I always order curry chicken nasi biryani because I love curry and chicken is the safest option and it is easy to eat too. I like mutton also but the portion is usually very small and I rather have the chicken. I have never ordered fish biryani for myself before as I dislike taking the trouble to remove the bones etc. I decided to try Curry Fish biryani for the first time but when I opened up my packet, the fish portion is so small as compared to the amount of rice! A close-up view of the fish. Although the size is small, the taste of the fish is nice and the bones are actually quite easy to remove as it's all in the middle part. Between mutton and fish, I prefer fish but chicken is still the best! ^^

They also provide buffet catering services known as Bee Catering Services.

Now they have even taken over the next door shop with additional seating areas for customers.

There are many good Nasi Biryani outlets in Singapore and I have just found one that really soothe my palate none other than the Nasi Biryani from Saffron’s Cafetaria. Opened 24 hours daily.

The authentic well cooked long grain basmati rice with a buttery fragrant and charcoal cooked taste. No need to travel to Arab Street for Biryani anymore.

Served with a generous portion of chicken meat topped with the non too strong saffron taste rice.

This Chicken Biryani Rice is served with a small amount of Archar (Pickles).

Though the colour of the rempah seemed hot, the delicate handful of spices is not too spicy hot and has a good aromatic blending of flavours.

I was early for lunch arriving at 11.15 am otherwise you may have to queue and the stretch of queue can take up to almost three shops long at peak hours.

For this take away I paid S$6.50.

As my mom was away, my dad went to takeaway nasi biryani for my dinner! My dad had the Fried chicken while mine is the Masala chicken. I wanted Curry chicken but it was sold out and the next closest to curry chicken is the masala chicken. Well, I actually can taste no difference between the two of them. My dad loves to drench his rice with curry but for me, I just like to keep pouring small amounts of it over my rice. The achar is nice and overall, a satisfying dinner!

You would want to do this..Bring your butt to Saffron's @ Tampines.. Go up to the fella who takes the order.. tell him "Handsome, one prata kosong and prata with egg KUAH CAMPUR with sambal kay & a Teh Tarik"

Ask for take-away. Saffron's always crowded anyways! Their food is that good! Simple but the best in town.

So you get home and you will find your prata soaked with spicy fish curry and a generous serving of sambal on the side. Prata is beautifully deliciously wet and soaked and just makes it so much better to devour!! Their curry is spicy! I cant recall any prata shop with a spicy fish curry for prata.. This is just shiok! Damn shiok! Please wash it down with a warm teh tarik!! Simplicity at its best ;)

Okay I'm drooling! Shall get me another one now!

This place has one of the best pratas in the East. It's open 24 hours but yet is very full especially at nights, all throughout the night. The dishes to die for here are the prata. Cheese especially. Even plain or just egg is nice. However, do not forget the chilli. They have just recently expanded by buying over the adjacent shop and now they have an additional branch somewhere.

Here is good enough!

Saffron is always busy on weeknights. Its hard to find a place to seat.. you can always see people standing around, lurking for places to seat.Luckily its was only the 3 of us, so it was slightly easier for us to settle down. Was hard to get the attention of the floor staff. They're so busy serving or clearing up dishes. Took a while before we could ordered.

Saffron is well known to the eastsiders for their Mee Goreng. I love to get Kway Teow and Bee Hoon mixed. It has enough char to give it an oopmh!! The redness makes it soo enticing! There's enough mutton and peas to satisfy me. And then i have the Iced Teh Tarik to accompany it along! Damn shiok i tell ya!

But what i didn't like was the mutton soup that my friend ordered for us to share. The gravy was too thick to my liking. the muttons were tender, but the taste was just bland to me.. not enough spices for my own liking.

The mutton beriyani is very tasty, the rice is cooked just nice and very fragrance and the mutton very soft and don't smell heavy of mutton at all.The teh tarik here is so so for me even though you can see the indian men tarik the teh so long and high but i think it is also the tea leaves that makes a different as i felt the teh is too thin wherelse i prefer a thick teh with strong fragrance.
