For full review, see: http://thehungrygeographer.blogspot.com/2012/01/ssikkek-korean-bbq-20th-birthday-part.htmlPretty decent spread of food, considering it only cost $24.20. Prawns were very fresh, and there was a good variety of meat - chicken, beef, pork - available. Very value-for-money, although a bit too oily. Drinks such as barley, iced water are available. A little smokey as the indoor ventilation wasn't very good.Overall, a pretty good place to celebrate with a bunch of friends!

went down with my lab people for lunch. when i first saw the plate on the grill, i thought it was was butter but actually is for the oil or sauce to drip from the grill which i felt is quite a thoughtful move. as for the food choices i did not really like it because the focus was on meat, there are a total of 6 types of marinated meat and that was almost everything there. there were fried rice and some salad/kimchi like side dishes but they were not suitable for bbq. although the price is cheap,

went down for lunch with my friends because one of them say the food is cheap and nice. the shop is located just slightly down the road from novena mrt so is quite convenient. the unique thing about this store compared to like seoul garden, the staff put a layer of aluminum foil above the grill so that you are grilling on the foil instead of the grill directly. then the staff will change the foil every now and then, i would say is more hygienic. as for the food variety is quite limited but for l

i went to ssikkek Korean bbq with my family after church. The place was very crowded but lucky for us, they had a lot of seatings and we did not have to wait long. there were so many kinds of meat, from pork belly to chicken to beef to bacon. All the meat were very big pieces, you have to cut as you grill. After grilling the meat, you can choose to eat it directly or wrapped it in a fresh piece of cabbage. I love their kimchi. This place is own by Koreans so their meats and bbq is exactly like those you eat in Korean restaurant. There was pork belly, bacon, beef steak, chicken all kinds of meat. And the pieces of meat are all large size and you have to cut it yourself. They also provided a couple of side dishes, ginseng soup, kimchi soup. lettuce and bean paste is provided to go with the grilled meat. It was really delicious! and everything only cost about $22.

I was recommended to this buffet place by my friend, who came here several times now. We came on a weekday dinner and the place was still quite empty. There is a wide variety of meat choices to choose from, and some other veg which I was not too interested in. Pork slices, pork chops, ribs, chicken, beef slices, bacon, sausages, and the list goes on. The sauce was good and makes the meat feels less oily. Service was quick and good. Service was quick and good. They were quick to change the aluminium foil when it was starting to get burnt. The price is reasonable too.

The owner really practises custimer service whereby waitresses change the aluminium foil on the bbq tray very often without being requested for. It is best to book a reservation early in the morning becuse the queue in the evenings is really looooong. it is really a warm and exciting atmosphere.
The food spread is alright, though the highlight seems to be beef. It is not very clearly made known which tray is pork/chix/or beef therefore there is a lil confusion.
other than that, korean main dishes liek kimchi, seaweed soup, tong fen, rice, friuts, prawns are all available. Worth a try and really good for gatherings!

although my hair smells of bbq even after washing.....
$22 for weekend dinner buffet. buffet available at lunch time too!
A television screen plays KPOP music core videos continuously! haha.
Kpop waveeeeeeee....

While looking for a place to have lunch, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place along Novena Ville. Don't be fooled by the signboard outside the restaurant. If I'm not wrong, it states that the buffet is only $16 for adults. I must say the food was pretty good. The meats (bulgogi chicken, lamb chop, steak, pork chop, bacon, sausages, etc) were very fragrant, tasty and well-marinated.
The buffet spread wasn't very wide but I felt that the meat section is definitely better than many other buffet places.

The staff there were very efficient in changing the foil on our grill. However, they changed it while there were still food cooking on it. They came by and randomly placed the food from our grill onto our plates. There were few instances where the placed our cooked food with our uncooked food and vice versa.

Other than that, the ambience and dining environment was very Korean and very different from the usual. Think the restaurant was opened by a Korean too.
