Ordered from Side Dish selection, the picture looked appealing. I prefer deep-fried stuff, like it very much. Prawn Toast was stringy yet not greasy, good taste with spicy sauce. I was quite impressed for their Thai-style chilli, unique sourly hot and satisfied our taste buds. $4.90 Thai Iced Tea was all right, it would be better if the ice lesser. The staff told us that customers are welcome to share opinion or comment on their food if any. Online form for feedback was available all the time, they look forward to hear from us.

I ordered an extremely spicy, rated 3 chilli padi dish with the desire to clear the mucus in my nose. Fried Chicken Sticky Noodles ($11.30). The description must have read, "Do not be deceived by this mild-looking dish". Please heed the warning, it is extremely spicy that I couldn't take more than 10 spoonfuls of the dish. I drank a full cup of Thai iced tea and one bottle of water but it didn't help to extinguish the burning sensation I had on my tongue, lips and it felt like my teeth was on fire. The chilli totally ruined the entire tasting experience, so if you're a dragon, just go ahead and order this dish. Or if you need to let your tears gush out from your eyes and onions don't work, just part with your $11.30 and go all out on this dish yeah?

Thai Seafood Otah ($8.30) was a disappointment... It was really expensive considering the size of this appetiser. In fact, it's not really Otah. It tasted like fish, and it tasted extremely weird. I would NOT recommend this dish.

My mum is a wise fellow when she orders dishes. This Thai Noodles Soup ($11.30) is the most worth it, and it tasted so uniquely Thai. The soup was sour and spicy at the same time, a good blend into what-you-call 'Tom Yum' lah.

Look at the noodles! It's like Kway Teow but not really.. very fine texture and chewy too!

Thai Iced Tea ($4.90)
I always order this every single time. My mummy would say it's extremely sweet, but to me, it tasted just fine!

For the above few dishes, we spent $42.15.

Chendol, S$6.80. The icy cold drink/dessert of the night. Awesome finely shaved heap of ice in the disposable cups with some thin slices of sweet tasting jack fruits decorated on the plain fading brown color of the soft gentle ice. A definite must try!

I'm quite impressed by the initiative of the server who offered to reheat their dishes as I was quite busy with the meet up and left our food untouched for about half an hour. An observant girl indeed. It is seldom I get to receive such great treatment from servers when dining in malls.

Ambience
Quite irritated by the house flies who keeps flying onto my food. As it was about 9pm on a weekday night, there was not much crowd in the restaurant. However since Thai Express was located along the food street in Basement 1, the open space is rather noisy.

Price
Reasonable pricing for such yummy food. The total spending for the night:

The pineapple rice was fragrant and really like the nice yellow colour of it. The prawns are fresh and crunchy, and also the added chicken floss certainly make this dish even more tastier and delicious. Lots of sweet juicy cubes pineappples can be found in the rice, which make it not too dry and appetitizing. Even the price may be abit high, but because of its good quality, I would not mind to revisit again.

Restaurant is quite cooling and with nice trendy decoration. Staffs are friendly as well.

This is the Glass noodle with crayfish in red Tom Yum soup, one of the dish from thai express that I will order frequently other than their tom yum talay. I like their crayfish as the served one whole crayfish instead of giving just one half. The crayfish is fresh too with solid meat and not mushy kind of texture. The tomyum is spicy though, a bit oily this time round. The glass noodles is cooked well, with a little chewy and not very soft. Overall a satisfying meal.

As they require me to dine in before I can redeem my birthday platter, I went there to have a mango rice and take away the birthday platter.

This is the mango rice. The waiting time is short and the taste is superb!
I didnt get a snapshot of the platter though. But there are quite a few fried stuff and a papaya salad. Worth for the price!

This Thai Express outlet was located in the basement of Jurong Point 2, where people can literally see and stare at you from above floors while you dine as all the restaurants located along that row doesn't have any "roof".

As I have a slight craving for green curry and crayfish, I ordered their green curry noodle with crayfish. Their green curry is my all-time favourite and I would never fail to order on each of my visits.

Here's the photo of my Green Curry Noodle with Crayfish:

When my Green Curry noodle with crayfish was served, I felt the food presentation could be further improved as you can only see the crayfish and if we only judge the food based on its appearance, in my own opinion, this dish certainly doesn't counts as attractive. But I am definitely impressed when I had my first taste of the green curry. The Green Curry broth was certainly thick and aromatic. It tasted great, but albeit a little too salty, which we didn't really like. The mee tasted normal while the potato tasted mediocre. The potato cubes were hard, tasteless and I think it would have been better if they had boiled longer and make it softer. As for the crayfish, it tasted normal. All in all, the only saving factor would be the yummy green curry as the rest of the items for this dish tasted mediocre.

Here's the photo of her Tom Yum Seafood noodle:

Similar to the Green Curry, the Tom Yum Seafood noodle tasted a little too salty too. For the first taste, the Tom Yum tasted good but on subsequent tastes, the effects wore off and I felt the taste became normal and stagnating. As for the potato cubes, as usual they were hard and tasteless, hence she totally didn't eat the potato cubes at all. Seafood portion wasn't a lot too. There were only a handful mixture of small prawn, squid but we think it was slightly too little.

Here's the photo of our first side dish: Otah ($8.90)

For the price of $8.90, the otah certainly seems pricey upon first impression. But as we bite into the otah meat, we were surprised to find that it consist of pure fish meat that is soft and tender and tasted good. Also, there were a few prawns scattered in the otah too. I ordered the otah out of curiosity. Although it tasted good, but if you ask me, I won't re-order on my next visit as there's nothing special about the otah, for the $8.90 price that was charged for that 1 piece of otah. If I top up an additional $2, I could have gotten a bowl of noodle at around $10+.

Here's the photo of our second side dish: Fried Pancake

I would say this Fried Pancake tasted good but other than that, I also won't re-order on my next visit as there's no compelling reason for me to eat it again. The sweet chilli sauce that accompanied the Fried Pancake was nice.

Here's another angle taken of the Fried Pancake, showing what the pancake itself contains.

We were pleased with the service level of the waitresses as they were very prompt when we waved for one of them to take our orders. Also, they were very friendly and polite during the order-taking. However one thing they could have improve on is the refilling of our glass of ice-water. Although they walked past us a few times, they didn't help us to refill our ice-water until I signaled for them to do so.

Our orders are:
1) Green curry Crayfish Laksa = $14.90
2) Red Tom Yum Seafood Laksa = $9.90
3) Thai Seafood Otah = $7.90
4) Crispy Pancake = $7.90
Total = $47.80 (includes 10% Service Charge + 7% GST)

I think the total cost of our meal is still reasonable, given the serving of our food portions are reasonable and both the broth of the Green Curry and Tom Yum were very yummy! However our dining experience could have further improved if they make both the Green Curry and Tom Yum less salty. Would I re-visit this Thai Express outlet again? Yes I would but I would definitely want to try out their other dishes on my next visit.

The crab was well prepared but a little oily, however nothing bad about it. Hopefully that portion size can be increased, or at least stop shrinking. Costed $13 and I wouldn't say it is cheap, but if you like soft shell crabs, Thai express has one of the best

Service is a definite 10/10. The uncle who served us was so enthusiastic he really made my day just seeing him enjoying his work.
