My dept wanted to have lunch here and I thought why not!I got myself a quarter chicken with 3 hot sides. The chicken serving is relatively large but not very tasty if not for the brown sauce over. I'm comparing this to Kenny Rogers whose grilled chicken is good on its own. The sides are passable only for me.Sad to say that I'll unlike eat here again...

The price and portion of the food is good! Not to mention about the taste! Definitely recommend the Mediterranean painini and the half rotisserie chicken! The waiting time is reasonable and it is a good place to chill after the meal with friends. However. The inside seating is rather limited and seating outside might be a little bit ' oily ' . It was fine other than that. Been there twice!

I have known The Rostisserie for its reasonable and deliciously priced roast chicken as well as the pork knucke. I ordered the quarter chicken ($11.90) this time around and you actually get to choose three sides to go along with it. They are a few choices and I picked the baked cauliflower, mash potato and corn. I love the tenderness of the chicken and how the sauce goes with it. Side were made delicious and made fresh as well. In additional, I even ordered a chicken salad to go along with it.

Apart from this I took the alfresco seat cause it was quite packed indoors. I thought it will be quite warm with the Singapore weather but to my surprise, it was actually pretty windy. Enjoyed my dinner throughly and I would definitely want to try their breakfast one day as well.

Half Chicken $17The half chicken comes with 2 side choices. I ordered the potato salad and coleslaw and they are quite nice! The coleslaw is made of fresh crunchy vegetables. The meat is a little dry though, but very tender. Chicken with Penne Pasta $12The pasta was nice and of appropriate moisture. The chicken strands in the pasta tasted much better than the half chicken.

When asked another question, she got into a robotic tone and told us what was already written on their menu. We can read in English dear cashier. Food wise.. The chicken would taste better without the salty brown sauce. The skin was a little oily but the grilled till evenly brown colour was appealing. Server gave breast meat and we asked if we could have thigh meat instead. She did not reply, and went to toss the breast meat back into the stack of chicken meats and picked a thigh section of chicken, dropped it into the plate and walked to the salad station. We followed assuming that was what we were supposed to do. It would have helped if she smiled.

For side dish, the choice was either chips (fries), vegetables, or salad.

Choice made today was salad. Pasta salad was bland and does not appeal after a bite. Rocket salad was fresh though. So maybe you can come here for salad feast.

You may want to sit indoors here. There were no seats left inside and we had to settle for outdoor seating. The strong winds outside blew our food cold in minutes. Papers and tissues were also seen flying around in the windy environment.

Coffee is horrible. Do not waste your money. There are better cafes within walking distance from here.

I was rather impressed by the Chicken burger they served, it was a big portion and I opted for the vegetables as a side (although there isnt much real vegetables i was given) - and was given the choice of Corn/ / Mashed Potato/ Baked Cauliflower with cheese (i think) and Peas. I picked the first 3. The corn was great, so was the mashed potato, but I wasnt a fan of the baked cauliflower. The chicken was done marvelously - tender and juicy. And the buns was soft and light.

Service was fine, but our coffee took a while to be ready, actually after our food came. But we ate, we chatted, and went home 3 happy and bellies filled customers...

I have always loved this corner of Buona Vista, the secluded corner. I had a half a mind to blog about it, because really, you can try asking how many of your friends know where Rochester Mall is. Maybe just a mere 20% adventurous ones would know. It’s good that it stays that way because then, you can be less worried about getting seats there. It’s quiet, away from the hustle and bustle, unlike what you get in Holland Village or at The Star Vista. It was a beautiful day, and well, the walk there

So no. If you did not see this, you’re at the wrong place. Rochester Mall is right beside the main entrance into Rochester Park. Contrary to popular belief, Rochester Mall does not equate to The Star Vista. Another thing I like about this place is its readily available dessert boutique + proper mains dining restaurants. A one stop shop.

The Rotisserie is one of those you can dine casually. It’s similar to a fast-food chain, where you order straight at the cashier. You would then take your vibrating paging system back to your (self-selected alfresco / indoor) seats and wait for your pager to sound. Whilst waiting, pick up a glass or two of water from the side. And complete it with your choice of condiments.

Drinks: Our drinks came first, reasonably so. We had Iced Chocolate, Peach Smoothie and Caramel Coffee. I feel compelled to ask diners to avoid their drinks. Their Iced Chocolate was ordinary, nothing harmful. I had the Caramel Coffee and it was really quite bad. It was bitter, not the coffee bitter, but more of the burnt caramel bitter. It was that bad I only had a fifth of it, coming from a person not all that particular with his drinks. The Peach Smoothie had the typical soap / handwash liquid kind of taste. Drinks range from around $4.50 – $6.00.

Pork Knuckle (Half) ($18): You can opt for it to come with either salad, vegetables or chips. Not being a fan of greens, I had the latter, of course. The fries are pretty good, the kind I like – thin, slightly crispy, adequately and well-salted. The Pork Knuckle was a semi-hit, semi-miss situation. While the meat was tender and very easy on the mouth, it was slightly gamey (I like my lamb and beef gamey, not pork), and its skin was the most absurd. It was anything but crispy. It was dry, dull and lackluster. It’s ‘lao hong‘ to the extend that you can’t fully sink your teeth in.

Quarter Roasted Chicken ($11.50): Similarly, sides comes with it. Its chicken, their signature dish, fortunately, delivered. Marinated for 12 hours with the restaurant’s in-house concoction, and roasted to perfection, I thought this dish was the only one that shone. Even at its breast parts where the meat tends to be drier and tougher, they turned it around and I was fine even with those parts. Commendable.

I don’t mind heading back. But I know if I were to be back, I would only be having their Roasted Chicken and nothing else. I like the ambience. A relatively laid back environment with some 90s – 00s music playing.

I went for a dinner recently at The Rotisserie, which was located at Rochester Mall. I went for a dinner recently at The Rotisserie, which was located at Rochester Mall. After reaching Rochester Mall, I soon realised that food there was pricey and that there were few restaurants to choose from. As a result, The Rotisserie- reasonably priced food- became the venue for dinner.

From what I hear from my friends, the pork knuckle there is really good, but I wasn't really in the mood for salted meat, so after pouring over the menu I opted for a 'safer' option- soup, salad and panini.

While it may sound bland, boring and blah, it was actually really tasty and filling. It basically consists of a Soup-of-the-day (it happened to be chicken and vegetable on my day), a choice of salad from the salad bar, and a choice of panini from their selection of filling. Long story short, I chose the Chicken ranch salad and the Italian panini.

The Rotisserie works in a self-service manner, (you're given a buzzer after you pay at the cashier which will alert you to when your food is ready for collection) but I was quite glad that they didn't take too long to prepare the food. I've heard that for the pork knuckle, only a few are available at any given time, so if they run out you'd have to wait for a half-hour before you'd get your food. Anyways, my food was served rather promptly.

So, first things first. My soup was really tasty, and I liked that there was a chicken bone/thigh and chopped vegetables in it- it made me feel that it was home cooked (although there was also a rather strong MSG taste). Next, I chose the Chicken Ranch salad, which was an adequate portion. While it wasn't very generous, the lettuce was crisp and there were quite a few slices of chicken so I've not qualms about it. My only peeve is the amount of dressing they used; whatever notion of healthiness I had when I ordered a salad vanished with the thick dressing. Lastly, the panini. The bread used seemed to be the normal gardenia bread, but because it was grilled panini-style it wasn't bad, and the filling wasn't sparse. The Italian panini came with ham and salami, dressed with basil pesto.

Together, the soup, salad and panini made quite a filling meal that left me not bursting, but content. Moreover, the setup at Rochester Mall was quite chill and laid-up, making it a nice place to meet your friends for a meal and a catch-up session (if Buona Vista happens to be convenient).

Anyway, I ordered the specialty - grilled chicken. For only $11.50, it came with three side dishes of your choice. I had potato salad, potato, and corn. I told you - I was hungry. Anyway, as soon as I paid I collected my order....The chicken was fully drenched in gravy. Just the mere thought of it makes me so hungry. And the flavour seeped in through the meat. I enjoyed it very much. Same with the 3 side dishes - I was pretty full after a very hearty dinner at The Rotisserie.

Rochester Mall has a nice ambience to walk around including the outdoor area. but there's nothing much except for a nice quiet romantic stroll. The Rotisserie is a very cosy place and well-lit too. You can opt to sit outside as long as there are seats. There are a number of expat crowds at times. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We ordered the Half Roasted Chicken and Chicken Schnitzel. The roasted chicken was tender and the sauce on it just made it right for both the meat and the chips.

"BLT
(bacon, lettuce and tomato)
$7.00

This was what I ordered.
Bacon is my favourite, and I would love it even more if it's fried even longer.
The serving is quite big for a sandwich, and I had to end up using my hands instead otherwise the bread will just fall off."

"Earl Grey Lavender Black Tea
$4.00

I always love Earl Grey, plus lavender just makes it better.

The serving at The Rotisserie is definitely worth the price,
plus the quality of food is good too.
I was very much full before I even finished my entire BLT.
I did not let the bacon go to a waste."

"I had Smoked Salmon Bagel with Cream Cheese ($8). I opted for plain bagel instead of sesame. In my opinion, the price is pretty reasonable for a hearty breakfast like this. The smoked salmon tasted really good, not too salty. The cream cheese could be creamier and cheesier though. The side salad was also good, didn't taste too raw."

I really love the yellow lightings and the layout that have been given some careful thought, there doesn't seem to be any particular theme of this restaurant which makes it so unique and standing out in its' creativity because they've set a whole new style altogether!
