During our previous visit to Ju Chun Yuan restaurant, we had their set dinner. Hence this time round, we decided to order the a la carte. While waiting for our food, the waitress served us the appetizers ($3/person). The portion of the 3 appetizers is so generous! I personally like the chicken dish so much. We ordered the Wok-fried Chinese Spinach with dried scallop 'Conpoy' ($14). Drizzles in oyster sauce, the spinach has a good flavour, and the dried scallops give a good texture to the dish too.
The Steamed pork loaf ($16) is so well-seasoned. The big loaf of meat includes smoked sausage, salted egg and chestnut is flavourful and satisfying.
We ordered the Fuzhou fried rice with minced shrimp and egg ($12) to go with the dishes. The fried rice itself is a bit under seasoned, but it sort of balance up when eating with other dishes.
Chilled mango sago with pomelo ($5) is pretty alright, with the sweet mango puree and slightly sour pomelo. A very refreshing combination.
Snow lotus soup ($6) is the dessert you seldom see elsewhere. The snow lotus has a chewy texture, not much taste on its own. However, with the rock sugar soup, this dessert is pleasantly good.
