Dinner Out!  Smile Dec 29, 2012

This is one restaurant which you definitely need to make prior reservation if you want to dine on the weekends and even on Thursday!

Ala carte style. Expensive but comes with fresh food ingredients and refillable soup base.

What's nice?
1. Laksa Soup Base - Highly recommended!!
2. Porridge Soup Base - Recommended but the refill is mainly water!
3. Homemade Prawn Balls - Fresh and bouncy. However, I think they made the prawn balls smaller! sad
4. Marinated beef and pork - soft and tender!
5. Siew Mai - nice! Cook when only you are ready to eat immediately.
6. Pho - smooth and nice but they increase price!

Staff were efficient and polite. Good service!

Only downside is the price. Too expensive.
Luxurious Steamboat!

My 3rd time visiting this cafe! Thumbs up for their desserts!

This time we ordered Choco Berry Celebration! The pudding was really smooth, milky and thick!! Me and my friend were so pleased with the pudding that we craved for more if our stomach can fill in more! However the strawberry bits were frozen and sourish.

Service was prompt and efficient after my 3rd visit which was really commendable!

Dessert Time! OK Dec 29, 2012

Desserts' a must after a fulfilling dinner! However, Lucky Desserts disappointed us! Desserts are supposed to be sweet but they do not serve really sweet desserts. We ordered Sesame Paste with Beancurd and Purple Rice desserts.

I did not finish mine as it wasn't sweet enough. Perhaps they can add 10% more sugar to their desserts. Service wise was prompt
and staff were friendly.

Having heard so much about Saveur from my friend and seeing the special review on Openrice, me and my friend decided to give it a try. We waited for almost 1.5hours from 6.40pm onwards though we thought that we were quite early. There was a long queue outside the restaurant and we knew we had to wait and we were both crossing our fingers that the food have to be good to make our wait worth it. And YES! It's worth the wait!

What we ordered:

1. Confit of Duck - Most popular dish whereby you can see almost everyone orders this dish. Verdict: the duck leg was done so well - extremely tender texture which melts in your mouth upon first few chews and the top layer was really crispy and nice. The mash potato bedding was perfectly made and it went well with the duck confit. Even the supporting roles - oranges and sautéed mushrooms tasted good!

2. Saveur's Pasta - Surprisingly this was served as an appetizer! Tasted great!!! However we found it too
dry and slightly oily. The Sakura shrimp tasted good - no weird taste like the ones I tasted I'm Bangkok.

Overall, recommended to try! Come early to avoid long queues. Some food may be sold out if you are too late.

By the way, service can be better improved whereby waiter and waitress
can be more attentive to customers raising their hands for enquiries and orders. Was pleased with the rate they replenished the iced water. However when we wanted to order the food, we
tried very hard to grab their attention.

Lunch Out! Smile Dec 29, 2012

Many of us love value for money food. Hong Kong Kim Gary Cafe is one place to visit for really budget and nice Hong Kong fast food. I have been visiting Kim Gary since its opened at VivoCity (1st branch in Singapore, recently expanded to accommodate more customers). Why do I love Kim Gary? Cheap. Generous Serving. Nice.

Usual favorites - Cheese baked rice set meal from $12.90++ (regardless of toppings), borsch soup (comes with set meal), honey pork rib rice (which I ordered that day costs $8.90 for lunch set), spicy big bowl noodles (my mum ordered - cost $9.90 for lunch set), all day set meal (cost $11.90 ordered by my siblings).

Come before 6pm, you can get to order lunch set meals which come with a drink and soup of your choice. Serving is generous.

Service is prompt and staff are generally friendly. Environment is nice especially if you can get seats near to the window panels and you can see RWS and scenery.
