TCC @Isetan Scotts OK May 10, 2013

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Restaurant

There are 2 tcc café just within the same area with the other one just outside Shaw at International Building. This shaw isetan outlet is accessible via isetan, nice cosy little place actually with some window seats overlooking the busy orchard road. Ordered the seafood au gratin $17.50 and Toufu and Mushroom $12. The au gratin is more easily recognized as seafood baked rice, not too impressed with it, those from the hongkong café can easily beat this standard. The toufu and mushroom is much better in quality with the toufu slices lightly pan fried before serving, but portion wise its more for ladies. Overall vibe about this place is it’s probably more for the ambiance than the food if I were to come by again.

Fried Bee Hoon OK May 09, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Food Court | Porridge/Congee | Noodles

Bought the fried Bee Hoon for lunch yesterday.
Their fried Bee Hoon was soft and neither too dry nor oily.
Added prawn, fish cake, egg, bean sprouts, cabbage and all are fresh.
The taste is quite nice and totally satisfied.
It costs $5 and +.20 for take away.
Can say a bit more expensive for Bee Hoon than usual, but it's orchard area and most of food will be like that.

Mushroom chawanmushi & Chirashi OK Apr 24, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Sushi/Sashimi

It’s a nice quiet place for lunch without the usual lunch crowd.
Have heard rave reviews about the mushroom chawanmushi and also the Chirashi set.
First impression of the chawanmushi is its definitely more quality food than the usual ones you eat with just plain egg and maybe one tiny piece of chicken or prawn meat.
You will be delighted with plenty of mushroom which goes well with the steamed egg, retaining the flavor of the fungi.
The chirashi also impressed with its thick sashimi slices, with 4 different types offered (salmon, tuna, yellow tail and I think mackerel) and also topped up with salmon fish roe.
It’s probably the thickest slice of sashimi I’ve ever eaten.
Very fresh I would say but being not a huge raw food fan, I should have stuck to a cooked food item and ordered this as a side instead.

Dinner at Ajisen OK Apr 17, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Ramen | Kids-Friendly

My friend who love Ramen brought me there yesterday.
The food is quite normal. But feel the staffs are unfriendly.
They served us to take seat first and let us see their menu.
But then, nobody come & check or watch out to catch again for meal order
even there's not crowded totally.
Also it's weekdays late dinner time, not peak hr.
I ordered the Bento meal set with white fish, costs $13.9.
Taste is okay. It came with rice, squid, toafu, egg and prawn in set.

No more drink with set lol
so, we added each Pepsi, most of drinks with soda that we don't like.
Fried soft shell crab is quite nice.

My friend ate Spicy Ramen, she said taste is a bit salty.
When we go to pay bill, also no body at cashier and had to ask them to collect again lol

Chicken winglets OK Apr 15, 2013
Categories : American | Fast Food | Halal

Ordered Texas Chicken winglets set.
It came with a drink, mashed potatoes side dish & honey biscuit.
I changed mashed potatoes to french fires.
The chicken is very crispy but in white color, that's classical one.
But the 3 chicken wings are really small and not the whole wing.
Their biscuit is really nice & unique one. The outside is honey sweet and crispy but the inner is soft.
Even no jam inside, it's yummy!
It costs $6.8. Overall, quite satisfied for quick dinner @Texas Chicken, Garden by the bay.
