Shared this dish with my boyfriend. I liked the design of their signboard. Using a cartoon mouth to symbolise the word mouth which can also mean mouth-watering. The stall auntie recommend me to try their curry pork rendang so I ordered that and also Taiwanese sausage and the yellow dish think is made from egg yolk. They have two sauce to choose. The sweet sauce and the chili. The chili is left with one that pathetic amount.

Anyway, after trying their bee hoon and the highly recommended curry pork rendang, I guess I won't want to order from here again. The bee hoon is tasteless and hard to chew. The curry pork rendang is cold and not nice at all. Sorry to say that if I were to eat this again, I might have to add a lot of chili to cover up the tasteless bee hoon.

The egg yolk thing and taiwanese sausage is nice though.

Expansive Ngoh Hiang Bee Hoon OK Jul 09, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Food Court

I must say the presentation of the wide variety of fried snacks really attracted me to order the from here even though I know it would have cost much more expansive as compared to eating at a market. True enough, 4 different dishes and bee hoon cost $6.10. Fried prawn $1.50, Fish Fillet $1.20, Fish Ball $0.40 Taiwan Sausage $1.50 and large bee hoon $1.50.

I like it that the fried snacks are fried on the spot which makes them crispy yet not too oily. However, for the fried prawn, it comes with the prawn shell which I dislike. Yes, although, the whole fried prawn was covered with flour and went to fry, I think the shell should be removed first. The rest are all good. I especially love their chili sauce which is mixed with peanuts I think. The sweet sauce is tasteless.

Girlled Salmon OK May 06, 2012

Categories : Fast Food | Halal

Long John Silver is famous for it's fried fish, chicken and prawn, so I decided to try something different from its coupons - Grilled Salmon with rice. This dish took a long to cooked. It was only served after my companions have already finished 3/4 of their meals. The grilled salmon is quite fresh with some burnt taste but the rice is tasteless and dry same as the fries. Although I really liked their fries with the strong potato taste but the whole meal is too dry and makes me very thirsty.

Original Soy Beancurd OK Feb 15, 2012
Categories : Hawker Centre

Soy Fun is a healthier choice for soy beancurd because the soy bean used are 100% GMO-free, organic and are freshly made daily with no preservatives added. It's smooth and delicious and they have a few unique flavours like Lemongrass and strawberry. However, I still prefer their original flavour. Their cute signboard also attracted me to buy from their stall instead of their competitors.

Mushroom Chicken Claypot Rice OK Jan 07, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Food Court | Porridge/Congee | Brunch

This is my first time trying out the claypot rice from this stall. I was very misleded by the photo in the menu to order their claypot rice. On the photo, the chicken looks fleshy and tender and there's big chunks of mushrooms and big leafy vegetable by the side. It's totally different from the real thing when it comes. First I must comment that their rice was abit too dry with not enough sauce and not fragrance enough. This is a big minus point already. Secondly, I was very disappointed with the portion of mushroom and chicken that was given. The chicken is almost all bones with little meat and the mushroom is only like three small pieces. The stall assistant was quite friendly though and even asked did I took a clear photo of their trophy. On my next visit, I might give their claypot porridge a try as it seems like there's more positive reviews on that.
