FOOD

Mini Dragon Roll - $9

The sushi are lined up horizontally and a prawn head and tail are added to both ends such that it turns out to be like a mini dragon. The sushi is topped off with slices of mango and tiny "eggs". It taste quite special, with sweetness of the mango complimenting the taste of the prawn sushi. Its sushi presentation is one of the best I have ever seen!

Tan Tan Ramen - $11

This tan tan ramen tastes quite normal, just that it's too salty and spicy.

AMBIENCE
A great place to dine and chill, as it's not very crowded.

SERVICE
The service staffs are quite polite and are quite fast in clearing away the plates.

Bak Kut Teh Smile Dec 22, 2013

FOOD

Menu

Pork Rib Soup ( Big) - $8
For a bak kut teh eatery to be successful, the Bak Kut Teh Soup must be the key differentiation that sets it apart from its competitors. Indeed, this old street bak kut teh located at upper paya lebar road has somewhat substance to fight it off against its competitors. The tasty pork rib soup reeks of strong pepper and tantalizing seasoning in the soup. Oh yes, this $8 bowl of soup is refillable at no extra cost and for unlimited number of times. What a great deal!

You Tiao - $1.50
This deep fried you tiao is quite tasty and crispy and taste awesome when dipped into the pork ribs soup.

Dry Pig's Tail - $7
This dry pig tail is cooked with dark soya sauce, instead of immersing in the peppery pork ribs soup. It tastes quite good too.

Kai Lan - $5.50
Besides their famous peppery pork ribs soup, their kai lan has also some kind of "substance", which has the right amount of soya sauce, garnishing that makes it tasty.

AMBIENCE
Situated in a coffee shop setting, this eatery is quite crowded and noisy. Do expect high volume of traffic during dining hours.

Sweet Pleasure - $6.90

A perfect start to tea break is this hazelnut cake which topped off with a chocolate layer and a sweet cherry. It has some kind of crunched biscuits and a few hazelnuts in the bottom layers of the cake which makes it so crunchy and tasty! A must-try cake! smile

FOOD

Nice utensils

Roasted Peking Duck (Half) - $38

One of the best roasted Beijing Duck I've ever tasted. Crispy skin with juicy meat equals to ultimate satisfaction! =) For the health-conscious ones, one may try it as it's not very oily unlike the usual peking duck.

Egg Beancurd with Shrimp - $12

This special beancurd has a very crispy skin on the outside, with its soft and smooth flesh inside.

Prawn Pan-fried with Cereal - $22

The fragrance of the dish is really so overwhelming! Fragrant and crispy cereal with butter prawns is a perfect combination! Mouth-watering dish that left my taste buds with a great impression. smile

Sweet and Sour Pork with Pineapple - $16

The usual sweet and sour pork one would die for. Its sweet and sour taste are well-proportioned and the cubes of porks are hot and crispy!

Chilled Rosella Flower - $6
This desert is like a pudding with mango cubes as its topping. It's a little too sweet, but generally acceptable.

SERVICE
The service staffs are quite helpful and friendly, as they would give the recommended dishes when one is unsure of what to try out.

AMBIENCE
It has a quiet ambience suitable for dinning. The place is not very big, so its advisable to make early bookings for those peak periods.

XO Sauce Noodle

XO Sauce Noodle

This XO sauce noodle is one of their speciality dish. But actually it taste like instant noodles cooked in XO Sauce with ham, fried egg and vegetables as its sides. It taste a little salty too.
Siew Mai

Siew Mai

The siew mai is not that tasty, and it's quite hard.
Bo Lo Bun

Bo Lo Bun

Finally the bo lo bun taste abit better. It has a crispy crust and soft loaf on the inside. Taste good!

SERVICE

Their service are generally acceptable, and they are quite fast in clearing plates.

PRICE

One of the reasons why it's so popular is that their dim sum are cheap and affordable, and its locations are at the center of the city.
