Sweet Treats @ St. Marc Smile Dec 22, 2013

Little Fuji - $6.30

Little Fuji - $6.30

My favourite desert of St Marc - Little Fuji. So it's actually a croissant topped off with vanilla ice cream, caramel and some tiny nuts. the combination is just perfect, especially when the sweet piping hot caramel croissant meets the freezing cold vanilla ice-cream.
Croissants

Croissants

The chocolate and strawberry croissants taste good too, but not that crispy as Little Fuji, which is a little disappointing. The chocolate croissant cost $2.40 while that of strawberry costs 20 cents more, at a price of $2.60
Ice Chocolate - $7

Ice Chocolate - $7

Their ice chocolate tastes great too! Thick blended chocolate with ice compliment well with the sweet deserts.

Located at a small corner of Marina Square, St Marc Cafe is just like any other coffeehouse where one can sit down and chill with family/friends, with its awesome deserts. It's not very spacious and its seats are limited. So do expect full house during the weekends.

Poached La Mian with Spring Onion

Poached La Mian with Spring Onion

This poached la mian tastes good with the fragrance of the onion and compliments well with the light soya sauce added into it. However, it's abit plain as there are no more other ingredient besides onion.
Steamed Xiao Long Bao

Steamed Xiao Long Bao

The skin of their Xiao Long Bao is a little thin such that it breaks easily when being taken up from the steamed basket, though it tastes good enough.

Lunch Set Menu - Dim Sum + Noodle + Beverage = $8.80 nett.

Overall, this lunch is quite value for money at a price of only $8.80. However, the environment is quite noisy during lunch time and it's like dining in a high class food court. On a second thought, what's there more to ask for when it cost only $8.80 for a 3 course set lunch?

FOOD
Fried Carrot Cake with XO Sauce - $10

Fried Carrot Cake with XO Sauce - $10

Cooked in XO sauce, the carrot cake taste quite normal, but could be better if more chili are added to it.
Chicken Chop with Portugal Sauce - $13.80

Chicken Chop with Portugal Sauce - $13.80

This is actually a chicken chop dish, only that it comes with some special Portugal sauce which tastes quite normal - somewhat made up of pumpkin. I love the tender chicken meat though.
Pan Fried Red Bean Pancake - $8

Pan Fried Red Bean Pancake - $8

The crust of the red bean pancake is crispy, and taste great with the fragrance of the tiny sesame bits.

AMBIENCE

Located at a quiet corner of Garden By The Bay, this restaurant offers a calm and peaceful dinning environment to the patrons. A good place to dine and chill as you admire the skytres in the garden.

Pasta Dinner OK Dec 22, 2013

Carbonara - $15.50

Its awesome bacon carbonara, thickened with egg and cheese, topped off with some garnishing, has a great taste of the creamy and cheesy sauce. The sauce is well-balanced such that one do not feels sick of eating the dish after some time. However, it's abit plain as it there were not much ingredients in it.

Chocolate Amer - $6.90

A perfect desert to end the dinner, I tried their Chocolate Amer, which has many layers of chocolate and mousse. It tastes very sweet, and has too much chocolate such that one gets too sick of the desert.

I love this outlet at Paragon as it's located at one small corner of the shopping centre and it's not known to many. As such, there are only a few patrons at the cafe, and it has a nice and quiet ambience for dinner.

Seafood Dinner on National Day Smile Dec 22, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Singaporean | Hotel | Seafood

On savoring a great meal on national day, we chose Palm Beach Seafood for their set meal of $88++/pax.

Seafood Deluxe Combination

For this seafood combination, you'll be treated to the 5 treasures of the sea, namely: Hokkaido scallop, huge gleaming oysters, fresh salmon sashimi, bamboo clam and live poached prawns. It's served in cold and the freshness is awesome! Do squeeze the lemon over the dish as it helps to reek off the fishy-smelling in seafood.

Herbal Chicken

This herbal chicken is soaked in the herbal soup such that it has a great deal of the herbal taste. The herbal soup is tasty but a little oily.

Shark's Fin Soup

Unlike the usual shark's fin soup, Palm beach has a special way of cooking it such that it came in individual claypot, with the lobster meat and shark's absorbing the essence of the flavourful stock.

Pan-Fried Soon Hock

Accompanied with light soya sauce, the pan fried soon hock taste a little salty, though the crispiness of the fish goes well with such combination.

Signature Chilli Crab

A must-try dish as it's one of their signature dish. Goes well with those fried buns!

Hong Kong Noodles

Like the usual noodles served outside, this dish is quite a plain jane as compared to the other seafood delicacies.

Fruit Platter

An ending for today's feast is the great fruit platter which consists of mangosteens, water apples, mango, pineapple, and guava. A huge fruit platter indeed!

Palm beach is a great place to dine in, especially during those special occasions like National's Day, New Year's Eve where one will be treated to the spectacular fireworks. The magnificent skyline of the Marina Bay is a great appetizer for one's eyes as you indulge in the feast. However, do make reservations during such peak seasons as walk-in customers may need to wait up to a few hours.
In one word, I sum up on the feast: Marvelous! lol
