A gem in Tiong Bahru Smile Jun 07, 2011
Categories : Bakery | Café | Brunch

Having walked around Tiong Bahru (and gotten lost along the way), we finally reached 40 hands. 40 hands is nestled at Yong Siak St which can be quite difficult to find. However, 40 hands is quite a good find. The breakfast that was served (even in the afternoon) came in a big portion and the good blend of latte finished off the satisfying meal. I'll definitely go back there smile

Quaint eatery OK Jun 07, 2011

Hairloom & Caramel is a hair-dressing parlour cum eatery serving Western fare. The main course offerings were ok, but what titillated my taste buds were the desserts or more exactly the bread and butter pudding. The pudding was not too sweet (which was good) and the portion was just nice. Later on, we took many photos at the various nooks and corners of Hairloom & Caramel as it had a number of quirky furniture.

Quiet lunch time spot Smile Jun 05, 2011

While the rest of Holland Village was abuzz with the lunch time crowd, the Coffee Club ,which is tucked at the further end of the rest of the eateries, offered a welcome peace and quiet. The shellfish soup and salad I ordered was good (although I wished that they could have been served faster)

"Egg-inspired" eatery Smile Jun 05, 2011

Nestled near the NUS Bukit Timah campus, Hatched offers an "egg-inspired" menu. Boggled by the wide array of dishes that can be concocted with eggs, we settled for Sir Benedict, Smoked Royale and the Pancake Party which is my personal favourite.
Hatched is a cosy quiet place to hang out with girlfriends during the weekends.

Arteatisq  Cry Jun 03, 2011

Following a recommendation from a friend, I strolled into Arteatisq on a quiet afternoon. As the place also sell furniture, you can easily miss the place. While the ambiance is cosy with a view of Orchard road, I was disappointed by my coffee. It was overpriced and tastes like regular coffee. A let down. Maybe I should have just stuck with ordering tea.
