Famous Yong Tau Fu Cry Mar 04, 2014

Categories : Hakka

Pass by this famous yong tau fu stall at Orchard and since not too crowded today, and have my lunch here. It was extremely expensive for the price of $7.50 for only about 7 items choose with rice noodles. The rice noodles was soggy and the chilli sauce was not really that fragrant and tasty. The yong tau foo items were fresh but nothing really excite me. Service was alright but can be more friendly. Dining area are very squeezy and uncomfortable.

Bali Thai Cry Mar 04, 2014

Had my lunch with my friend at this Bali Thai on this afternoon. This time we tried their few types of main course dish, which we had the lemon fried chicken and also the stir fried beef. Restaurant was very cosy and comfortable, service was alright but could have been better if they can smell more and greet more. Portion served for both dishes are quite little and not filling at all. lemon chicken was not sour enough and the meat was quite dry as well. The beef meat was tender and juicy and the peppery flavour make it quite delicious. Plain rice was dry and hard. Paid around $25 for both which was quite expensive.

Coffee swiss roll  Cry Mar 01, 2014

Pass by this cake shop and saw their cakes look nice and presentable so decided to get one to try. The counter was neat and clean and the service staffs are friendly and helpful too. Have bought their coffee swiss roll cake which cost $3.00 per whole thing. Good to cut into 6 descent size cake. Cake texture was abit too dry and not much coffee flavour. Was not too sweet but would be better if more cream was spread in the centre part of it and not really that tasty.

fish sambal briyani Cry Mar 01, 2014

This stall at this food center is super popular with super long queue and great business. I have bought their fish dambal briyani at $4.50. The rice is not really that fragrant but portion of it was very generous. Fish meat was nice and fresh and the sambal flavour is fragrant too. Pickles was a bit too tasteless and tye bean soup was alright as well. Not really that impressive. Service was soso too and dining area was quite dirty.

laksa Cry Feb 23, 2014

have tried the laksa here when visiting my relatives here. The stall is neat and clean. Service was alright but could have been better if friendly. For price at $3 $3 is consider priced reasonablely. The laksa gravy was too thin and not that flavourful. Rice noodles portion was generous and beansprouts make it very crunchy and tasty. Was not too nice to only have 2 cockles inside.
