Mee Goreng  Smile Jan 28, 2013

Categories : Singaporean | Food Court | Hawker Centre

I'm not so much of a foodcourt person as I dun reali like dining at a foodcourt. Why would I make an exception this time as I'm tempted to try the mee goreng from this particular stall.

I seldom come across this kinda stall which sells mee goreng. Usually their standard is fried carrot cake, fried kway teow, fried oyster and friend hokkien mee. Well, those are the 4 heavenly kings.

Prefer this chinese style mee goreng much much more as compared to the indian's style.

1stly, more ingredients like prawns, scrambled eggs, peas, fish cake
2ndly, not very spicy but it's full of flavours
3rdly, chrispy lard bits, that's my motivation for going back for more..... lolz tongue

Recommended Dish(es):  mee goreng, fried carrot cake

Time For Tea Break Smile Jan 27, 2013

I was in search for delicious glutinous rice and it's reali hard to come across delicious glutinous rice these days until I found it HERE.

I was drew by the crowd standing in front of the stall. Out of curiosity, i peeped into the glass display where there were plentiful of yummy looking nonya kuehs.

Here, satisfying my long crave of the q q glutinous rice, ( hate it most when i come across soggy or super dry and grainy rice), with mild dried shrimp and mushroom flavors, served with crispy peanuts and fried shallots.

Another compliments is the chili sauce! smile

A New Dining Experience Smile Jan 27, 2013

Had a wonderful dining experience at the brand new Lenas last week. In was indeed a totally new experience as it was a totally new concept. Lenas used to serve western delights but now, there are other selections in the new menu. Japanese food from MOF menu as well.

When we were shown to our seats, we were given 2 sets of menus. From main course to drinks and desserts, we took a long time before we decided as we were spoilt for choices. I wanna eat the spicy miso ramen, katsu don, carbonara and many many more....

In the end we decided for hot stone rice. Not the usual ones, but with cheese instead.
my friend had a stir fry beef with cheesy fried rice.

While I had a sliced pork with cheesy fried rice.
What's unique about this dish? Other than being serve on hot stone like Korean style, this dish has lots of other ingredients like sweet corn, carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbages...all the healthy ingredients. Last but not least my favorite pork belly.

While hot, the melted cheese are "pulley" yet messy. Rice on the bottom of the pan are slightly burned and crispy, giving out a super fragrant taste.

We were quite full after finishing the rice but there's definitely room for dessert. I been wanting to try Japanese dessert from MOF since it's establishment years ago but haven got a chance. Finally, today is the day!

we shared a matcha ice cream with red bean sauce, served with glutinous rice balls and jelly. A perfect match between the mild bitter matcha ice cream and sweet red bean sauce. Lovely! We will be back for more...

Half Spring Chicken Rice Smile Jan 27, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Coffeeshop

Dinner last nite was fantastic as we bought a whole table of feast from 401 coffee shop. Was told by many friends that the fried chicken from this stall is fantastic.

Not sure have they changed owner before as I remembered that I used to love the fried chicken wings here but that was like when I was 7 years old. haha... good memory? well, cuz my primary school used to be next to this coffee shop and I always patronized this stall after school. haha....

Somehow or rather, it did brings back some memories after the first bite of chicken.

Overall verdict: Chicken is salty, crispy and considered quite fresh as it does not have stale blood stains on the chicken bones.
Great and better if serve with baked beans as well. lolz...

Golden Sweet Potato Dumpling Smile Jan 27, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Hawker Centre

Haven been to Maxwell for quite sometimes and decided to drop for some snacks since i'm in the area.
It's reali ages as I didnt even realize that the price increased over the last few months.

Here's my sinful tea break! I still go for my favorite choice of dumplings, 2 with vegetable fillings and somehing new for me to try~ beans.

Veggie~A good combination between the sweet & savory Chewy sweet potato deep fried dough which gave off a mild sweetness when chew. Not only the fillings is salty, the turnip and carrots has a sweetness as well. It's not over powdering with a strong smell of white pepper. Delicious!

Loos cute! Initially i still tot the bean refers to red bean but I was wrong after having the 1st bite. It's actually salty mung beans. I was taken a back and tot the aunty gave me a wrong order. Hmm...unique combi as it was being topped with half a peanu instead of bean. Had 3 flavors in my mouth at 1 time. :chopstic:chopsticchopstickk:k:

Will become my favourite choice sooner or later!tongue
