Dinner with in-laws Smile Nov 17, 2011

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Seafood | Zi Char

Right after we came back from Hong Kong, decided to visit this Zi Char place for dinner again. I must say after eating all the good food in Hong Kong, yet the food here is still up to standard!

We ordered their soup of the day - lotus root with groundnuts and pork ribs. With a mere S$4 enough for 4 pax. I must say it's really value for money.

Next come the honey dew melon prawn fritters. Nicely done as it's not just nice presentation but tasty too! Prawn fritters is fresh and crunchy fried to perfection. Together with the sweet honey dew at the side of the dishes, it's really a uniquely good combination by the chef!

Vegetable stir fry with 3 types of mushrooms also as tasty and good!

This is make one forget about all the long waiting time! smile

Sliced fish soup Smile Nov 17, 2011

My friend told me it's a legendary fish soup around in singapore. So i've decided to give it a try.

I found that it's the most generous fish soup with lots of sliced fish! Soup base is very tasty and good too! Everything cooked just nice. So the forever long queue at lunch time is worth the wait afterall!

It's really ichiban as their signboard says! high recommended!

I love their durian pancake so much because it's freshly made on the spot! With crispy and hot dough on the outside and fragrantly cold and generous durian filling on the inside, it's just perfect! They are having promotion whereby if u buy 5 pcs there's 1 free piece! smile

Durian puff also good

Do expect waiting time of at least 15minutes!

One of the best rojak in town Smile Oct 27, 2011

Went there at around 3pm, surprisingly not much of a queue. Only waited for 10 minutes and it's my turn to place an order!

Ordered a plate of $4 worth. Very generous portion and the "You tiao" is VERY crispy as there's a dedicated person to toast it before serving! They even gave two big splash of peanut on top which is really nice to go with the delicious black prawn paste. In my opinion, If there was mango and more fruits it will definitely complement and make it more perfect!

Casual dinner OK Oct 27, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Bakery | Kids-Friendly

Had a casual dinner at Crystal Jade Junction 8. Today @7pm peak hour, there isn't any queue at all which is quite rare....

Chicken fillet with almond flakes and lemon- Love the almond flakes, very crispy. Lemon gravy opens up my palette and easy to eat.

Silver bait fish with salt and pepper - This is suppose to be the starter but it came last sad This dish is "so so" as it's not as crispy and very oily. Also there's not much taste in it.

Sliced fish soup with herbal and Chinese wolf berries - i think this is their new dish as i've never seen this on their menu before. It's quite healthy and soup base very clear and taste good with all the chinese herbs. They also give a generous serving of sliced fish.
