shredded pork la mian

shredded pork la mian

I have eaten alot of la mian but this is the best so far. I always order the zha cai rou si mian (preserved vegetables and shredded pork noodles) every single time I visit. The noodles is very tangy and the soup is yummy. I normally add 2 teaspoon of chili to spice up the soup. This is one la mian which I cleaned up the entire bowl....noodles, soup and all! The shop is run by Chinese nationals so the noodles is really authentic. One of the cheapest eatery in boat quay. Must try!!!

Black sesame (frozen form) Smile Oct 14, 2011

Black Sesame Ice cream

Black Sesame Ice cream

I always eat rum & raisin ice cream. But when I saw this, I told myself that I had to try. And guess what? It taste exactly like black sesame paste except that it's frozen. Besides being soft and creamy, the texture is a little sandy which means it's made with the real thing...not artificial flavoring. $3.50 single scoop.

Mini Spicy Miso Ramen

Mini Spicy Miso Ramen

Great tasting soup that is really thick. The chewy noodles and egg is not overly done. Only problem is that the noodles isn't separated properly. Mine has clumps. The mini size is good enough for one. $15.80 (ramen + one side). I had a 3 piece gyoza which unfortunately, I forgot to snap a picture of because it was lunch time and I only had an hour to eat and rush back to office. Would be better if the waiting time is not longer than 20 mins.

Soup base

Soup base

I chose the spicy mala soup while my dinner partner chose the wild mushroom lingzhi soup. Mine wasn't spicy at all and his was abit bitter but when we combined the soup together, it was a good mix. Wonderful taste!
Teriyaki Style Scallop Sticks

Teriyaki Style Scallop Sticks

Another good one on the menu. The sauce is not too over powering and the scallops are not too hard. Just the right chewiness for me. Doesn't have fishy taste like some scallops I used to take before.
Szechuan Style Monkey Head Mushrooms

Szechuan Style Monkey Head Mushrooms

Looks awful but taste ok. Not something I would boast about but it's passable. The hard on the outside and soft on the inside taste is not my cup of tea. A good try though...
Deep Fried Golden Mushroom

Deep Fried Golden Mushroom

I've taste deep fried every kind of veggie but this is the first time I've taste deep fried golden mushroom...the thing I always throw inside my steamboat. My dinner partner decided that I should try coz it's good. He is right!! It is GOOD! I like how it is deep fried and still not very oily.
Spicy Cucumber

Spicy Cucumber

This is so nice, we had 2 of them. The cucumber is crunchy and the soy sauce is not over powering. On top of that, the sesame oil gave this dish a really fragrance smell and taste! I can have 10 plates of them at one go!!
Wild Mushrooms With Thai Spices

Wild Mushrooms With Thai Spices

I love the taste. Not oily and it comes with a wee tinge of chili. Perfect appetizer for the main course.

Price is at $29.90++ per person

Best Beef Noodle Smile Sep 30, 2011

Beef noodle

Beef noodle

This is the best I've ever tasted. It stands next to the one I had in Amoy Street market. I like it so much that I practically clean the bowl (noodles, beef, soup and all) every single time I take this. My next love would be the chili sauce. I normally need 2 packet of chili for one bowl of noodles. AND I would never fail to ask for an upsize tongue A small bowl wouldn't be enough for me.
