Ban Mian Smile Nov 10, 2013
Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Hawker Centre

With a nice soup base, it makes this bowl of ban mian a tasty one. On top of that, deep fried egg. Slices are added to enhance the taste which is not seen from other ban mian stall. The ban mian is slightly different from other stall as the ban mian from this stall has a slightly thinner width. Apart from the noodle, other ingredients such as the sliced cabbage and meat chunks is also added. Sliced spring onion and ikan bilis is added as garnish to improve the taste and flavour. Price wise is quite reasonable at $2.50/$3 onwards. Apart from ban mian, this stall also sells a variety of noodles which includes fish soup beehoon and others. [Review from mobile]

Nasi lemak Smile Nov 10, 2013
Categories : Malaysian | Halal

Nasi lemak is one of the traditional breakfast that we used to eat. When it comes to nasi lemak, old town white coffee offers one of the best nasi lemak. This plate of nasi lemak is well presented and is very appealing. Firstly, the rice is well cooked, soft and fluffy texture and comes with a nice pandan leaves and coconut fragrance. Next the chicken wing is nicely done and has a crispy texture. Seasoning wise is slightly too salty. As for the egg, it is overcooked as the egg yolk has a slight grey layer. next for stir fried beehoon with the sambal cuttlefish, the sambal for the cuttlefish is too oily and the sambal itself is slightly too salty as well. As for the beehoon, it is pretty well cooked and is topped with the egg slices and other garnish. [Review from mobile]

Nhior hiam Smile Nov 10, 2013

Having a sinful lunch as I brought a plate of the nhor-hiam which consists of several popular nhor-hiam items such as the prawn cracker, deep fried you tiao, tao kwa, yam and many others. There is one particular item which is the squid with stuffings which I think only this stall sells it. The stuffing of the squid is tasty but not sure what it contains. As for the squid, the texture is not too hard and goes pretty well with the stuffing. The stir fried beehoon is a must when it comes to nhor-hiam. The stir fried beehoon from this stall is quite fragrance, comes with some bean sprout and is not as oily as compared to other stall. Lastly, they have two sauces which is the spicy and non spicy version. The spicy sauce is not that spicy and have a slight sweetness in it. As for the non spicy version, the consistency wise is too thick and starchy. Overall, quite a good nhor-hiam from this stall and will continue to patronise in the future. [Review from mobile]

Duck rice Smile Nov 10, 2013
Categories : Hawker Centre

My favourite duck rice for lunch at the clementi food market after shopping at the nearby clementi shopping mall. This food market actually offers a wide range of food ranging from hokkien noodles, to satay, bak kwa, fish soup noodle, prawn noodles and many others more. After walking around the food market, I found several customers queuing at this duck rice stall and decided to join in the queue and have a try on their duck rice. First and foremost, the presentation of this plate of duck rice is quite well done. As for the duck meat, it has a slightly softer and tender texture as compared to other duck rice stall. And the gravy that comes with the duck meat is also less salty. The soup wise
is quite tasty as well and has a light taste of the various spices used. Lastly, their chili sauce is also very tasty and goes well with the duck meat and the rice. Price wise is reasonable and will
recommend to others as well. [Review from mobile]

Dim sum Smile Nov 10, 2013
Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Hawker Centre | Dim Sum

having a dim sum breakfast with family members on a Sunday morning . At tiong bahru pau and snack, long queue can be seen almost every time I patronise this stall on a weekend. With their different variety of deep fried snacks being display, it allows customer to choose more easily. Apart from their deep fried items, it also offers steamed dim sum such as the char siew pao, chicken pao, siew mai, har gao and many others. Their porridge is also quite tasty and smooth with slices of century egg added in it. Lastly, the price is very reasonable and food is quite tasty as well. Thumbs up!! [Review from mobile]
