Fried prawn noodles Smile Oct 06, 2011

Anyone who lives near Jurong Point would probably know that this stall has one of the best fried prawn noodles in the area. I always have friends and family recommending me the fried prawn noodles from this stall and I finally decided to give it a try for dinner.

The leave (?) they use to wrap the noodles had a really strong smell which I didn't like but it gives the noodles a special flavour. The noodles were well-fried and I really liked the sauce. I'm slightly allergic to prawns so I gave it to a sibling. Apparently the prawns were fresh but lacked a little bit of taste.

Its pretty hard to find tasty fried noodles in the area and I really liked the one from this stall. The only downside is when I tried to order one without vegetables, I was told they mass fry the noodles so they can't do that for me. It costs around $4.20 smile

Macau fried rice!  Smile Oct 06, 2011   (Related Review)

I wrote a review the first time I was at the HK cafe and saw a fellow OpenRicer's review of the Macau Fried Rice. It had a good review and looked really good so I decided to go back and give it a try.

Although it looks pretty plain, it smelled really good when served. The fried rice is incredible. It has a unique tomato taste..which I'm just going to assume is how Macau fried rice is supposed to taste. I could literally eat just the rice alone. The chicken chop was pretty average. Neither extremely tasty or terrible. The sauce goes well with it and it was tender and moist.

A very simple dish and costs around probably $10? (I can't remember). I do recommend it and was glad I actually tried it.

Creamy chicken pasta OK Oct 06, 2011
Categories : Italian | Pasta | Halal

I decided to buy the Creamy Chicken pasta from Pastamania. I chose the linguine pasta and upsized it to the large size. It was really nice of them to separate the pasta from the cream.

When I got home, I made the mistake of pouring all the sauce into the pasta immediately. I'd recommend dipping the pasta into the sauce instead because by pouring it it just sipped into the bottom.

Anyway, the cream sauce was unexpectedly tasteless but thankfully they had given me many chunks of chicken to make up for the lack of taste. Personally I didn't like the fact that it was almost tasteless but it was really filling and costs only $10.70.

NON STOP! Double chocolate chip Smile Oct 06, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook

Was at the airport again and I decided to get the NON STOP! cookies. It used to be 2 for $6 and now its 1 for $3.50, 3 for $9. A slight price increase but I really like the cookies and decided to share with a friend.

I got the double chocolate chip cookies. They are bite-size, which makes it very convenient to snack on at anywhere. The cookies are not too crunchy and are firm. I really liked that their chocolate is sweet but not too sweet. Despite being double chocolate, it wasn't overly sweet and it has a unique taste, making it hard to get tired of the taste.

I really liked the double chocolate chip but I also do recommend the caramel chocolate chip if you're a sweet tooth.

Mexican Cheese Chicken Meal Smile Oct 06, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Restaurant | Steaks and Grills | Kids-Friendly

Was meeting up a friend and decided to dine at New York New York since its really spacious and relatively quiet. It has the perfect environment for a pleasant meal with a friend.

We decided to have the promotional meal, which has around 5 main dishes and I had the Mexican Cheese Chicken. The meal comes with Mango Ice Tea and Ice-cream.

The Mexican Cheese Chicken is basically fried chicken chop topped off with 2 types of cheese with a side salad and some tortilla chips. The chicken was pretty moist and goes well with the cheese. It is really big and I couldn't finish it all. Only downside is, when it cools down, it becomes really dry and hard. The chips were similar, if not, same as Chachos (plain). It would be nice if they had given cheese or something for us to dip the chips in.

The Mango Ice Tea was probably Pokka's mango ice tea. They have a wide variety of flavours for the ice-cream (1 scoop). I had the chocolate chip and I really like the chocolate rice in the ice-cream.

Overall, it was around $12.50, which I consider to be really cheap so such a big serving with a drink and a dessert. I do recommend the Mexican Cheese Chicken but it'd be good to finish it fast or share it with someone.
