Healthy Cold Noodalz Smile Aug 24, 2011

I didn’t intend to buy the cold noodles. Heck, I didn’t even know it existed. I only found out about the cold noodles on my hunt for baumkuchen.

At first when I reached the shop I thought I was at the wrong shop because the last time I was there they don’t sell any noodles. I was very tempted to try the noodles because the smell of the noodles was tickling my senses and I saw many people eating the noodles.

I hesitated for a long time before deciding to buy the Dolphin. It has prawn, quail eggs, sesame, carrot slices and lettuce, a whole lot of them. The noodles are covered with miso sauce. It has a very strong smell. On the train, the smell kept escaping the container and into my nose tempting my poor hungry stomach.

The Dolphin is surprisingly good. The prawn is very sweet and it goes great with the sesame seeds. Also, there is A LOT of lettuce of different kinds. I don’t like the purple ones.

The Dolphin has too much lettuce and it’s a little spicy. Otherwise, I think that it’s a very special, since I’ve never seen it before until now, and healthy food. It’s great for hot days too.

Basketball Ramen Smile Dec 22, 2011

I love Marutama’s ramen. I went all the way to Clarke quay just to eat this. It was the best ramen I even had. The soup is very very meaty and flavourful. I highly recommend getting the egg too. However, I don’t really think people should eat too much of the egg. The shop is quite nice too. It makes you feel like you are really in a Japanese store eating ramen. The logo looks like a basketball which makes it easy to remember.

I love the xiao long bao. The skin of the xiao long bao is just nice. Not too thick and not too thin. It does not break easily. The soup inside is very flavourful and the meat is very succulent. However, I would really recommend eating it hot. After all, a hot bao is always tasty bao. Ha ha...

Crunchy Crunch Smile Dec 22, 2011

I like to buy the California roll from ishi mura. Last time it was $2.50 per box. Now It’s a little more expensive, $2.70 or $2.90 can’t really remember. There are 8 pieces in a box. I think it is quite worth it. The ingredient they use are also quite fresh. Every time I bite into the California roll, I always get the crunch crunch sound from the cucumber inside.

Hot Hot Smile Dec 22, 2011

I would recommend this laksa to people who like spicy food. This laksa is like hot-hot - hot and spicy. It is worse when you have to finish your food quickly. However, although the laksa is spicy, there is the underlying taste of sweetness of the laksa. There was quite a lot of ingredients - fishcake, fish ball, shrimps, dou gan and bean sprouts.
