Chicken Caesar Salad Smile Jul 29, 2012

Categories : Italian | Pasta | Halal

I haven't been to the Kallang Leisure Park since their last upgrading. Today, we would be watching the 'Saltimbanco' by Cirque du Soleil at the Singapore Indoor Stadum, so we decided to have our dinner here. As usual, my kids never missed a Pastamania. I was not very hungry so I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad.

It came with three small containers, one for the sauce, one for garlic breadcrumbs and one for some tiny red bits which I have no idea what's it. The tiny red bits were a little hard but tasty. There were also three pieces of chicken breast meat, my favourite. It cost only $5.90, quite worth it. The sauce was nice too.

Big Pau Set Smile Jul 26, 2012

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Food Court | Dim Sum

This was the first time I came to this Kopitiam. It was named 'The basement' because it was situated at the basement of Centrepoint, the underpass linking to Orchard Central. It was almost lunch time and the crowd was building up. I have yet to decide what to eat, so I thought of having a coffee first. I saw that the Dim Sum stall has coffee set with some Dim Sum. I ordered the big chicken pao and coffee.

I like the pao, especially the egg inside. It's quite hard to get big chicken pao that has egg inside. Good coffee too.smile The set cost $2.20. Pretty worth it.

Herbal chicken Smile Jul 18, 2012

I would say that based on the name of this stall, it's really very unusual that I would find anything here that would be suitable to my taste. But yet I saw that they did have something that caught my interest, the ginseng chicken soup. It was not too expansive, about $4.50 if I didn't remember it wrongly.

Without fail, I took lots of chilli padis and added them to the soup. I really like things spicy. It was tasty. It has alots of wolfberries and my hubby loved them. It has red dates too. The chicken meat was very tender and juicy. Value for money for a dish in food court.smile

1-for-1 Pasta Meal Smile Jun 13, 2012

My child and I was looking for a place for lunch and this 1-for-1 pasta promotion caught my eyes. It's a special for DBS/POSB credit or debit cards. It's so happened that I have one of such card, so we decided to give it a try. There was quite a few type of pastas under this promotion but unfortunately there was no Bolognese and Aglio Olio. Anyway, we managed to find two that we wouldn't mind trying. I ordered a Hotplate Tom Yam Seafood Macaroni for myself and a hotplate tender chicken with bacon and cheese for my kid. The meal came with soup, salad and drink. This cafe used to have free flow freshly bake bread but I was told that such promotion has ended. What a pity! The bread was really very nice. Anyway, they told me that the soup comes with 3 pieces of garlic bread each. Guess that would do for me.

The garlic bread was really fragant and crispy. The soup was tasty. The salad was refreshing.
Tom Yam Macaroni

Tom Yam Macaroni

The Tom Yam macaroni tasted a little like mee goreng, a little too sweet for me. Its not spicy and honestly, it didn't taste like tom yam at all. But it was not too bad.

I like the cup and saucer they served the coffee with. Very unique.smile
The whole meal cost $24.35, inclusive of taxes, for the both of us. Worth it.

Chix Cutlet Noodle Smile Jun 11, 2012

It's dinner time and back at Clementi Mall again. Really have no idea what to eat. My children decided to have Subways sandwich, so my husband and I settled for this Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert that was opposite the Subways. This shop (actually not really a shop), was pretty small. It has a seating area for less than 30 customers. Very squeezy. There was only one waitress attending to the customers.
I didn't like pork so the only choice that I have was the Chicken Cutlet Noodle.

The chicken was crispy and the noodle was very Q. But it was a little too salty to my taste. The presentation was interesting, the noodle was place in a metal plate on top of the bamboo tim sum container. $6.90.

My husband ordered the HK wanton noodle. He too said that it was salty. $5.90
