Fish Delight

Fish Delight

I like fishball, I like fish. Therefore the common food that I would order from a food court was fishball noodle or fish beehoon. This fish delight at IMM was always my first choice when I was there. They have the choice of fried fish and fresh fish. Personally, I prefer the fried type. The stall owner told me that the brown flakey thing that they added in the soup was actually made from egg. Interesting!

This time I went with my mum-in-law and I ordered the fresh fish beehoon for her since she preferred that. She said the fish was fresh. I definitely agreed since the fried fish that I ate was fresh too. The soup was tasty. Overall, it is delicious.smile

KOI is Awesome!!! Smile Aug 30, 2011

Categories : Taiwanese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

Finally I had the opportunity to drink a cup of Koi. Everytime I went to Clementi Mall, there would be a long queue at Koi and I found it a waste of time to queue, so I never had the opportunity to drink Koi. That day, the queue was shorter than normal and so I decided to drink a cup. =] I ordered a cup Ice Cream Tea. After ordering, they would give you a queue number and then, you would wait for your drink to come. It wasn’t long that I waited to get my cup of Koi. Quickly, I opened the drink and drank it down. Yummy. The first time I ever tasted Koi in my life. It tasted like a scoop of vanilla ice cream, but in liquid form. All they did was make the tea and put a scoop of ice cream in it., and you Koi is made. When the ice cream melted, it was just a cup of liquid ice cream tea, but it tasted really nice. I would definitely want to have more cups of Koi in future. I think that queuing for an hour would be worth it too. lol

Fishhead Bee Hoon Smile Aug 18, 2011

My husband was telling me that he found the best Fishhead Bee Hoon in Singapore. Well that really sounded familiar. He always says that where and where has the best this and that. He would bring me there to try it out. But unfortunately, it wasn't always true. This time he said that he's going to bring me to Telok Blangah for the best Fishhead Bee Hoon. I went along half-heartedly.
The Hawker Centre was quite clean, not particularly packed, eventhough it was lunch time. I saw some stalls with long queue. He went straight to the stall to order the food, while I snapped a picture of it.

He ordered the fried fish slice bee hoon, as we didn't fancy the bony fishhead. The price ranges from $3.50 to $5.00

This bowl here was $5.00.
It was delicious. They added the XO sauce. Very fragrance. But some of the fish slices had too much flour coating, else it was almost perfect.
One thing to note, they are closed on Sunday and Wednesday night.

West Coast Wanton Noodle Smile Aug 16, 2011

Categories : Malaysian | Hawker Centre | Noodles

This particular Food Centre, known as West Coast Market Square, just had a renovation not too long ago. It is located opposite of the West Coast Plaza. It's a cheaper alternative to have your meal when you visit the West Coast Park or Plaza. Last Sunday, we had dinner there. The Pontian Wanton Noodles was our choice. The stall claims that the noodles were handmade, very tasty, no preservatives and would still remain nice when cold. I have no way to prove all the claims but I'm able to vouch that it was indeed very tasty. The noodle has a very 'springy' texture, not soggy. The wantons were fried, very crispy. The soup was very nice too. I don't normally eat pork as I don't like the smell, but these wantons didn't have the smell at all. smile

Always having a long queue. Highly recommended.

My hubby told me that he's gonna bring me to a very nice beef noodles place at Marine Parade. I was reluctant as It's too far from where we were at Bukit Merah. But he said it would be worth it.
This restaurant was located within the HUDC 'The Leguna Park'. The carpark was $1 per entry. My hubby brought me through this entrance that was so dark that I thought the restaurant was not in operation. But when we got through the second door, I saw the bright interior of restaurant. It was not packed at that time. I realised that the restaurant has another entrance on the other side, a more proper one.
It's actually a Hainanese restaurant. We ordered two bowl of beef noodles, one dry and one soup, upsize ($8 per bowl). I ordered the homemade lime juice ($2.50). When I looked around the restaurant and saw that most of the customers ordered the beef noodles.
The beef noodles smell nice, didn't have the strong smell of beef (牛肉骚味) like those in the foodcourt. The chilli was spicy and a bit sour, like vinegar. The soup was sweet and tasty. smile

The lime juice was super refreshing.

Although it's a little costly, it's worth it!
