Japanese Ramen Smile Nov 18, 2011

Love the Ramen!!!
The soup is deliciously thick and flavourful. The most amazing ingredient in that bowl of ramen is the hard boil egg. I love the runny bright yellow egg yolk while the whites are all set. It always makes me wonder how they do that. If guys prefer rice, they can go for the tonkatsu rice set. The meat is so tender that it doesnt taste like pork. Prices are a tag expensive. I feel like I,m paying $3-$5 more for similar dish in this restaurant than others.
Must try dishes: kyushu kurobuta charshu ramen, tonkatsu ramen,Tonkatsu rice set

Ice Cream :) Smile Nov 13, 2011

Rainy but still the ice cream will not make the day any colder. XD
I tried the Waffle Wonder ($18) - an easy decision given that the banana split was the same price but had two less scoops of ice cream. The waffles were firm and not too sweet, thus allowing the different flavours of the ice cream (vanilla, passion fruit, chocolate and strawberry) to stand out. The ice cream here has a rich flavour but the scoops are smaller sized than usual, ensuring that you will not go out feeling bloated.

Service was acceptable given the heavy crowds.

Sweet Treat for Lunch Smile Nov 13, 2011

Personally, I like the decor of the place, furnished in wooden tables and chairs with some comfy sofa seats as an alternative. Menu was quite comprehensive with additional brunch options. We had:

Bubbles & Squeak ($14.80) - I have no idea why its called what its called. It was onions, mushrooms, and potato cakes, and 3 patties of it. The description says its 'pancakes' and technically its not wrong but still I found it a little misleading. Not too bad for the taste with the cakes nicely browned outside and the insides still hot and fresh, but can be less oily as the otoil gets to you after 3 patties of the same thing. Served with a side of salad.

Blueberry Pancakes ($13.80) - Nice! 2 pieces of fluffy pancakes with real blueberries, so you get the natural sweetness of the berries on top of the aroma of the pancakes. Served with 2 short sausages which was quite bland actually.

Pomegranate tea ($4.50) - Light and very fragrant, a very good alternative to coffee!

The place started to fill up about 1pm onwards but generally still a getaway from the usual Taka crowd. Good place to catch up with friends but beware of clueless staff. Worth a place to revisit as the cupcakes on the shleves looked very very tantalising.

Going Bugis to buy some art material and feel a little bit thirsty as Singapore is as scorching hot as ever. Finally remembered a bout a KOI outlet there.

Guess what we found there. The queue was extremely long. Nonetheless, I still queued because I was really craving for KOI's Ice Cream Milk Tea at that time. LOL

After half an hour I finally got my drink and would not visit that KOI outlet again XD

Braised abalone with sea cucumber
And many other dishes to try for.

The manager is very friendly and can speak 4 languages including hokkien, etc
