I was feeling very hungry as I had an early lunch, so decided to drop by KFC at Causeway Point to have a snack. Since it was to be a 'not so heavy' kind of meal, I decided to order the Snackers Set instead of the usual chicken or burger set meal. The Snackers Set came with a drink, Pepsi, which I think is a nice touch as customers will get thirsty after eating so much fried food, and the drink will be able to quench their thirst. I also ordered an extra mash potato, which wasnt included in the Snackers Set, but bcos it was a must order for me everytime i visit KFC. 1st thing i ate was the mash potato, my favourite. The brown sauce was drenched all over the potato, and I like it that way. The potato and sauce just seem to go together and melt inside your mouth, YUM! Too bad the serving was really small, i finished the whole thing in less than 3mins. Nevertheless, I was happy since I got to eat it. The Snackers Set i got was the one with the popcorn chicken inside. The popcorn chicken were very crispy, but it wasnt very warm when I ate it. Fries were limp, and they dun have the 'crunch' to them. It's kind of like eating soft potatoes. Taste wise, it was acceptable to me. For the Pepsi, I drank only a few sips as i didnt like gassy drinks. There were alot of ice inside though, perfect for such humid and hot weather in SG. You may be surprised, it was only my 2nd visit to Texas Chicken in my whole life. However, the 1st time I went to Texas Chicken, I had alrdy fell in love with the mash potato sold there. As I wasnt really very hungry, my friend got 1 set meal and the 2 of us shared it tgt. There were alot of ppl at the fast food restaurant when we got there, and we only managed to find a sit after waiting for a while. The queue was quite long too, so we waited quite some time for that too. When my friend brought the set to the table, I saw that he had ordered a set which came with 2 pieces of chicken (spicy of course, as we both like spicy food), 1 fried bun, 1 mash potato, and a cup of Coke. I didnt like the taste of Coke, so after drinking 1 mouth, the rest were his. 1st thing I grabbed? The mash potato of course, my favourite. The potato melts in your mouth, and the sauce that came with was just perfect. Eating the sauce and potato tgt was a great combination, it tasted oh-so-fabulous! However, my only grouse was that there wasnt enough of the brown sauce to satisfy me. Hehe, I like my potato to be drenched in sauce all over. The chicken was not bad either; crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. It was piping hot and I scalded my fingers a few times while trying to peel off the crispy skin to eat. It was pretty spicy though, so I had to drink a few more sips of Coke. The bun was pretty nice too. I actually put mash potato on it and ate it together, turned out it wasnt so bad! Overall, the chicken was nice, and not too oily too. Mash potato was really nice too. Other Ratings:Taste 3 | Environment 3 | Service 3 | Clean 3 | Price 3 Recommend 0 |
It was my little sister bdae and I decided to surprise her by ordering an ice-cream cake from Swensens, which is to be delivered on the day itself. When the cake came, it was put into a Styrofoam box with dry ice inside. I was afraid it would melt so I pestered my dad to bring out the cake, but as we had not eaten our dinner, my dad refused and said that it would not melt at all. Luckily, it turned out that he was right, when he took out the cake 4hrs later (there was a note on the box stating that the cake shld not be left for more than 3hrs as it would melt), the cake was still frozen solid. It was really difficult cutting the cake, even after using the knife my mum alwys used in the kitchen. In the end, we could only get spoons to dig the cake to eat as it was just too hard to cut. The cake was really nice, with ice cream in between thin layers of sponge cake. There were 3 flavours of ice cream in it in total; vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. The nicest flavour was chocolate (of cos, since it was my favourite). The cake was soft, and eating the whole thing makes ur teeth shiver. One tip: Eat all 3 flavours tgt with the cake, its the perfect combination, delicious! Overall, a really nice to eat cake. Will purchase again next time. It was a long time since I met up with my classmates, so we decided to get tgt for an archery session at Cdans Home Team Clubhouse. Before that, we went to the Guilin Restaurant downstairs to have dinner before we proceed. The restaurant was pretty empty when we got there, so we were served pretty quickly. I placed an order as my friends had no opinions, and we ordered a plate of fried rice, mee goreng and a bowl of fish maw soup. The soup was the 1st to come. It was piping hot, and very flavourful. I put alot of vinegar (as alwys), and it was very satisfying. There were alot of ingredients inside, well worth the price paid. The broth was abit too salty though, but it's also bcos of its saltiness which makes it so nice, haha. The fried rice was the next to come. It was also very hot, and just the right amount of ingredients too. The rice was just nice, not too dry or wet. Taste was just nice, not too salty. Only thing was that there were just a few prawns scattered around such a big plate of fried rice, if there's more it would be better. The mee goreng was the nicest. Half the plate was gone before I managed to snap a shot of it, haha. It was pretty spicy, with prawns, carrots and beansprouts etc. Serving was big too. The spring onions in it made the whole dish more flavourful too. Wasnt too dry, and I actually ate 3 small bowls of it. A must try! Overall, a pleasant dining experiece, only marred by a few houseflies flying around which was very irritating. Other than that, service was good and food was of pretty good standard. Will patronize again. Other Ratings:Taste 3 | Environment 3 | Service 3 | Clean 3 | Price 3 Recommend 0 |
It was my cousin's bdae and so I decided to surprise him with a small cake from BreadTalk. I normally buy bread from BreadTalk so it was my 1st time getting a cake from them. As their bread is delicious, I tot the cake would be nice too. Turned out I wasnt disappointed at all. My cousin loved the cake, and he literally ate all of it. I managed to get a small slice to taste though. Haha. The strawberry was fresh, and it was sweet. The cake was moist and soft, practically those 'melt in the mouth' kind of cake. Although the price of the cake was abit on the high side, I didnt mind as it is worth the price. Will buy again next time.
