Lemon Chicken Rice  Smile Dec 09, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Food Court | Chicken Rice

Went with my sister to NUH for her monthly check-up and as it was lunch-time and it was still not her turn yet, we decided to drop by the main building Kopitiam to have a quick lunch. There were still a few empty tables around so she went to sit at a table while i went to order food for her.

She wanted to have chicken rice, and so I ordered the Lemon Chicken Rice for her. It came with a soup. Funny thing was, the plate which the chicken rice was served was made from Melamine, whereas the rest of the utensils and the bowl for the soup were disposables. Feel that they should all use reusable dishes and utensils, as not only will it save the environment, eating hot food using disposable plastics was not very good as the plastic may melt.

The rice serving was pretty big, 1 full bowl serving, with a few miserable slices of cucumber. I tried one of them, and it was crunchy, surprisingly, as most of the time i ate chicken rice, the cucumbers werent that fresh. The chicken pieces were small, and looked hard. However, imagine my surprise when i bit into one, the chicken was soft, and it tasted of lemon. Nice! smile The only thing was that the chicken wasnt hot, though that wasnt surprising since most chicken rice stalls i've been to all had 'cold' chicken. Rice was not too cold luckily.

Overall, it was a surprise to me that i could find such nice chicken rice in a hospital Kopitiam, will come again and eat it next time, smile
NICE!

NICE!

Chicken Pie Smile Dec 09, 2011

Categories : Bakery | Halal

I was at Causeway Point at night with my parents shopping at Cold Storage, and as I was feeling abit hungry, I decided to get a Chicken Pie from Polar. Their chicken pies were my favourite, though i buy them once in a blue moon as i felt the price was abit on the high side (though most pastries are about these prices). mad

The pastry was flaky, and the aroma was heavenly. There was some mixed veg stuffs in the puff other than chicken pieces. The chicken was soft and the pastry was warm. It was quite oily though as like most pastries, the paper bag was oily after I finished the puff.

Overall, satisfied as i've alwys loved chicken pie, oily or not. tongue

Chicken Ham with Cheese Bread Smile Dec 09, 2011

I love going to Swee Heng as they have a wide assortment of breads for sale. It was tea-time and as I was feeling quite hungry, I decided to go down and buy some bread for myself.

I saw this Chicken Ham with Cheese Bread in a plastic packaging, selling at only $3.80. It was as big as a whole Pandan Cake, so i decided to get it since i felt it was pretty worth it. 1st thing I did when I went home was to cut a slice for myself to eat.

mad I didnt made a wrong choice. The bread was soft, and the combination of ham and cheese just felt so right. Even though the cheese was those processed sliced cheese, the taste was still really good. Though i felt there wasnt enough ham, but for that price, one couldnt complain much. smile

Ate a total of 2 slices, and another one for supper. tongue

Overall, I can only say this bread is super delicious, A MUST TRY! lol
Will get it again when i see it! smile

Spending per head: Approximately $3.80(Tea)

Chicken Cutlet Set Smile Dec 09, 2011

Categories : Food Court | Brunch

My mum did not cook any dinner so I had to eat out. As I did not have any money with me, I decided to go to Mega Food Mall to settle my dinner since I had the Banquet Card with a stored value which could be used to purchase food. Made my way to my favourite stall in the whole Food Mall - Pots and Pans, and ordered a Chicken Cutlet rice set.

The service was fast, and the staff brought out my cutlet on a sizzling hotplate. There were raw cabbage or lettuce (I'm not sure how to differentiate) on the hotplate, and the cutlet was placed abv the veg. The staff then took out a bottle of mayo and squeeze some on the cutlet.

The chicken cutlet was very crispy, and also very oily. After finishing all up, the hotplate was all covered in oil. The soup was my favourite of all, it was starchy, and tasted really nice with black vinegar. Rice given was also in a very generous amount, a whole full bowl.

Till now, have tried quite a few different types of rice sets alrdy, will try their noodles next as I heard they were pretty nice too. smile

Spending per head: Approximately $3.60(Dinner)

Pizza Hut Reopened! :D Smile Dec 08, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Pasta | Halal

It had been a long time since Pizza Hut had closed down at Causeway Point because of the renovations that went on there. It has now been finally reopened and of cos the 1st thing i did was went down to Pizza Hut when I knew they had reopened at B1.

There was a short queue when i went there (it was ard 7pm alrdy). Luckily, service was fast and I didnt have to wait long before it was my turn. I went with my sister and friend, and we got a table for 4. As I had alrdy known wat i wanted to order even before going there, I only had to wait for my sis and friend to decide wat they would like. After we ordered, the dishes took quite some time to arrive, ard 30mins, which may b due to the dinner crowd.

I ordered the Curry Zazzle Baked Rice, which I'm a hardcore fan of. It is something that I have to order everytime Im at Pizza Hut. As usual, Im very satisfied with the baked rice, as the curry was just nice for me, not to spicy and not too bland. There were large chunks of chicken pieces, and some huge pieces of potato as well. The rice at the sides were abit hard, which is common for baked rice. Potato was soft and chicken had no fat in it. smile

My sister ordered the Turkey Bacon Carbonara, which came with some mushroom pieces and a few miserable slices of turkey bacon. Serving was pretty small too. However, I tried it and it was pretty good. My sister poured alot of cheese on the spaghetti, and almost the whole bottle of cheese on the table was eaten by her (it was full before we were seated). mad

My friend ordered a plate of spaghetti that came with beef balls, and I couldnt taste it due to religion reasons. She said it was nice, and there was enough sauce drenched on top too. Same thing though, serving was pretty small.

Overall, enjoyed our dinner, though the serving time could improve. Staffs were really friendly even though they were really busy, and took time to let us know the promotions and specials, and introduced themselves before leaving us to look at the menu to decide. smile
