japanese style pasta  Smile Mar 25, 2012

personally i am not into fusion food cause i normally find them tasted weird but the display of this restaurant looked not bad so decided to give it a shot. i ordered the hokkaido cream soup spagetti to try and it looked quite nice when it was served. i think the taste was something like carbonara but then less creamy which reminded me of the cream udon that i like from waraku. the portion of spagetti was also quite generous for just regular size and i think is value for money

went down with friends for dinner last week but i was a little skeptical about this restaurant due to the horrible service that i had at the other outlet. my friend made a reservation so we did not have to wait to be seated. i ordered the chirashi set with extra inari sushi. i think the sushi was very average but the set had really generous portion of food. the chirashi don was quite different from what i eat normally but i quite like the choice of sashimi. tempura was average, quite crispy and the teriyaki chicken was a little too sweet. as usual, i like the chawamushi and the cha soba was quite nice too

chicken cheese set OK Mar 25, 2012

went down to ichiban sushi for lunch couple of weeks ago and ordered the chicken cheese set since it looked so nice on the menu. we went down for lunch about 12 and there was quite alot of people in the store but not full house yet. but i think the service was really bad and it was due to severely under staff. i saw the whole store only have about 3 staff and they were busy running around. and we had to wait very long for our food to be ordered and even longer time for the food to arrive. so i was very disappointed with the service.
bad serive aside, the food was not too bad. i ordered my favourite tobiko sushi, it tasted not too bad, the roe was quite crunchy. the set meals portion were really huge, normally it came with a main dish, rice, side dish, chawamushi and fruits. that day the soft shell crab tasted quite horrible and was not hot. the chicken was quite nice but too salty. so my favourite dish from the set was the chawamushi

takoyaki Smile Mar 25, 2012

it has been a long time since i last ate takoyaki so gotten a few pieces to try. i gotten the original takoyaki sauce, since i too long never ate at gindaco i forgotten the staff put such generous portion of mayo on top on the takoyaki so i had to scrapped away the sauce before i ate. i think the nice thing about gindaco takoyaki is the slightly crispy skin that most other takoyaki store does not have

claypot hor fun OK Mar 25, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Stall / Kiosk | Porridge/Congee | Kids-Friendly

ordered the seafood claypot hor fun to try since my friend recommended me this chain as the other outlet he tried was really nice. i think the presentation of the hor fun looks not bad, quite nice but the taste was slightly blend but if eaten with the green chili, i think was not bad. the portion was average, quite ok for a girl but may be not enough for the guys. i think the concept of putting the noodle in a claypot instead of the normal metal mini wok is quite new and keep the food warm much better
