I love Riverwalk Tandoor for their decor, cosy ambiance, authentic indian food that does not stnge on variety as well, excellent service as well as resonable prices! We opted for the buffet dinner which was seriously worth every cent!

It consisted of a decent number of vegetarian as well as non vegetarian items. There was also a variety of sauces as well as appetizers. Titles of dishes were clearly stated below each pot. The pots also kept the food pipping hot. The restaurant was clean and staff were very prompt with both water re-fill's as well as clearing of plates.

The biryani rice was aromatic yet not overbearing. One of my favorites dishes are the palak paneer which is basically spinach with indian cheese. The spinach is well cooked which would make spinach-hater's give this dish another chance. The butter naan's were also very good! soft and fluffy. Gulab Jamun which is a signature dessert here is definitely a must try! It definitely left me craving for more. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience and definitely worth the price for a buffet!

Unbelieveable Donuts Smile Feb 13, 2012

This is a memorable dining moment for me because I came here on my 23rd birthday for dessert. As my friend and I had exams the following day. We decided to treat ourselves to donuts while studying. Not only do the donuts look tempting, they also taste amazing! I was so thrilled when Dunkin' Donuts finally opened at changi airport as I frequent the airport a lot for late dinner's/suppers. I rushed over to order 1/2 a dozen of donuts. There are quite a lot of varieties to choose from (but they tend to disappear off the shelves later in the evening!). As I was here in the morning, I was spoilt for choice as there were just too many varieties to choose from!

I ordered..

Oreo: There were crushed oreo bits on the donut along with swirls of cream to sweeten the deal. The donut was not very sweet and made a good snack

Smiley face: The smiley faced donut was actually custard. It looked really cute but I found the filling a little blunt for my liking

Double Chocolate: Definitely one of my favorites. It had chocolate on the outside as well as chocolate on the inside!

Chocolate Pudding: This was probably the best of the lot even though it looked pretty average. There was icing on the donuts and chocolate on the inside! with every bite, chocolate oozed out from the donut which made it so irresistible.

Perfect for dine in's and take away! I also tried their smoothies and espresso's which were really amazing! I would say, they tasted better then the other coffee joints. It's not a crime to be a sweet tooth and these treats are not that expensive either.

The outlet is pretty quiet on weekdays and students are even allowed to study here.

Veggie Heaven 24hrs OK Jan 10, 2012

Categories : Indian | Restaurant | Vegetarian

Ananda Bhavan has been around for a long time. They also stated a franchise which resulted in a few branches islandwide. I was glad when it opened in Changi Airport especially when it was made 24hours! This place is ideal for anyone who wants a late supper at a quiet location. No doubt its usually packed on weekday evenings and on weekends with indian nationals swamping the place. It tends to be an ideal place for supper after 9pm on weekdays.

The restaurant is also vegetarian and serves a wide range of ala carte dishes. From thosai to prata, to naan's, biryani and noodles. There's something for everyone. They also have indian sweets available for dine in or take away.

My boyfriend and I decided to get the vegetarian biryani. It came with a side of kurma (curry) and also raita (yoghurt salad). The portion of the biryani is substantial but I found the portion of the kurma rather small. However, customers can always request for more curry from the staff. Our food was served hot within 10 minutes. I also ordered the paneer tikka masala (indian cheese curry) as a side dish but was utterly disappointment.

There were 8 medium size paneer cubes served on a platter with garnish in the middle. There was no gravy and the cheese appeared to be grilled and quite tough. Definitely not the way it should be served. We did enjoy the biryani though but I wouldnt recommend the sides; the set meals here seem to be pretty decent and value for money.

going thai! Smile Dec 18, 2011

This is probably my firfth visit to thai express but its my first to the one at tampines! smile I really do like how flexible the staff is with orders and they are very open with catering to vegetarians. I had the pineapple fried rice and made a request to have it vegetarian. The staff were very attentive and immediately agreed to the request. The food took about 10mins to arrive but it was worth the wait. There were sufficient vegetables in the dish. The pineapple tasted very succulent and the rice was fragrant. The vegetables in the rice were also well cooked and did not taste raw like they do at some places especially during peak hours.

We also had a tofu side dish with mushrooms. The only complain I do have was that it took nearly 20mins to get to us and we were almost done with our food. The serving of mushrooms was generous though. Also, the avacado juice which is really popular among many was sold out to my dismay! ): that is definitely a must try! ;D

We also had this beverage (which my boyfriend recommended and I was very skeptical about) which had coconut ice cream on top. Kinda like a float I guess. Surprisingly, that was good! lol

Breakfast on the go! Smile Dec 10, 2011

One of my favorite places for breakfast is at Ya Kun Kaya Toast!. I love how their toast comes in mini sizes and its toasted to perfection. You can taste the amazing kaya & butter combination that totally melts in your mouth. Service screw is also friendly and advised me to order ala carte instead of their sets as i didn't want the eggs and it would be cheaper. I'm guessing not all cafe's would offer customers a cheaper alternative like they do. Though it took between 5-10mins for them to prepare my toast, it was worth the wait. Best to avoid the morning peak hour though!
