50% off dim sum lunch OK Nov 20, 2014
Categories : Singaporean Chinese

Came here because of the 50% off dim sum lunch. The price is ok, though slightly more expensive, after the 50% discount. Food taste is so so. We also ordered some ala cart dishes like sharks fin soup, noodles and the charcoal beancurd. The sharks fin soup has lots of roe, at a price of $40/bowl!. Was surprised to get the charcoal beancurd as the menu only mentioned beancurd and we never expect it is black!. A very expensive place, they also included extra 10% in the price for non-members. But very good views.

buffet lunch OK Nov 20, 2014

One of the cheaper buffet places around, considering that it has 1 for 1.
Range of food is ok, though I think could be better. Majority of the dishes are spicy, not suitable for children. I only like the dessrt best - esp the durian crumble! Dash for it. Heavenly. Had the truffle cake too, very nice. Only I don't like is that they charge children price from 3 years old onwards! which is ridiculous, how much can a 3-year-old eat?

Tried this set for dinner. The set comes with dumpling noodles, sambal fishball and green bean soup. I like the sambal fishball, spicy but nice. Dumpling noodles also not bad...the filling is full. A bit disappointed with the green bean soup.... we went in the evening ard 6pm, not sure if green bean soup are running out, but the soup I get has so much more soup than beans....very watery and beans are so miserable...that's a disappointment.

rabbit buns OK Feb 16, 2013

My child loves the rabbit buns from Sakura. It is actually red bean / leng yong inside. The shape is cute and appeals to children.

Variety of food from Sakura is great. Besides rabbit bun, there are also teppanyaki, japanese, soups, desserts, pizza, ice cream. Especially liked the yam paste with ginko nut dessert here, and the crispy prawn.

Don't really recommend the pizza here though as somehow I think they taste weird, esp for the salmon...so I never tried it again after one try...ha

dimsum OK Feb 16, 2013

We tried the fried rice, carrot cake, char siew bun and gyoza for breakfast at RWS.

Feel that the portion of the fried rice is a bit little for the price. Taste wise would think that it is so-so only. Liked the char siew bun and gyoza. The carrot cake looks a bit burnt, otherwise ok.

Quite a crowded place for breakfast...a good alternative if you're not taking the breakfasts from the hotels.
