The Song Of India  Smile Aug 16, 2012

It was my first trip there and the location is 10 minutes away from the MRT Station therefore it is still not bad, and quite easy to locate as they have the big board (The Song of India). The whole place is a black and white heritage home and it looks cozy when you enter. It is rather posh and the surroundings are lushy big trees and plants. It is a restaurant by itself. And i tried the masala tea which the waiter told me it contains different type of herbs and spices that helps to digest and detox. I thought it will taste bad however it is the opposite, it tasted so great that i finished the whole cup! Worth trying and it goes along with the food. Ordered and it came with the rice and different curry sauces. All the sauces are good and the quality of it is amazing and it is unlike what you ordered from other indian restaurant!

This is called "BEEF ME UP"! It have a super thick juicy homemade beef patty in between two extra thick pancakes with sautéed mushrooms and a side of arugula salad (Walnut and some rocket salad) by the side. We waited for about 15 minutes for it to arrive. It tasted not bad but i felt that the portion is quite little and is not filling after eating it. The beef is well done!

I felt that this is one of the their best pancakes - Egg Ben! Look at the appearance and it already looks perfect. The positioning of all the food such as the poached egg on top of the ham, english muffin. And they have the egg yolk sauce by the side whereas for some cafe would pour a little on top. They made it on the side and the amount is much more than the others cafe. It taste really good and so do the poached egg! When you poke it, the egg yolk flowed out. amazing meal.

This is their scallop egg noodles (udon, soba) as the noodles you can choose your favourite and they will cook it. The scallop looks right and of course tasted right! The amount of the whole noodles are alot and i could not finish them, perhaps it can be shared among 2 ladys. It tasted yummy and the scallop is fresh too! There is a little bit taste because of the soup..

"Yi Long" in chinese is one basket of the dim sum and i called for the Xiao Long Bao! The skin is very thin and is watery in the inside. Therefore care is needed when taking up the Xiao Long Bao because it will tend to stick a little on the piece of paper that is on the basket. And when you bite it the soup will start to flow out and it's time to bite it with the ingredient and meat on the inside! Yummy! (:
