I had won a cataplana Originale in a contest. One weekend, we decided to go to Jcube, since we had never been there before. After a bit of shopping,we headed to Nando's. We had to wait in a queue for about 10-15 minutes before being offered a table.

I loved the lay out of Nando's at Jcube. It is facing the Ice rink & has a very cosy feel to it. I saw alot of parents dining there & their kids skating on the rink and came waving at their parents, every time they passed by the restaurant. The staff were super firendly & handed us the Menu. We ordered for an Originale Cataplana with hot sauce, which, I believe is newly introduced on the menu. We also ordered for a 1/4 chicken with 2 sidelines with hot sauce. For sidelines, we ordered peri chips & coleslaw. It took a while for our food to arrive. In the meanwhile, we enjoyed watching people skate & having fun on the rink. Once our food arrived, we attacked it,since we were too hungry. The Cataplana was nice, but wasn't as great as I expected it to be. The portion was small & was just an O.K dish. I think, it wasn't really worth the price i.e. 19.90 $. We loved the chicken. I've always been a fan of the Nando's Chicken & I've never been disappointed on the quality & the taste. It was perfectly cooked, juicy & well done. The spice also, was just right. The peri peri chips were a delight. The coleslaw was ok too.

The best was saved for the last. We finally ordered for dessert. We decided on Chocolate crunch roll. It was a chilled chocolate & biscuit roll. It was so heavenly, chocolaty & tasty. We relished every bite as we ended our meal at Nando's that afternoon. We love Nando's for their chicken & will definitely dine there more often.bowl

I was In Millenia Walk waiting for my hubby, when I spotted the ' Twelve Cupcakes'. I had read reviews about it on Openrice and wanted to try it out for a while. My wish was granted, since i spotted it. I walked in. There were some people queued up in front of me. While I was in the queue, I looked at all the cupcakes & I just fell in love with all of them. They are so pretty & colorful. I then, decided on the red velvet cupcake. It was served & I sat in the seating space outside & dug into it. It was so soft, soggy, perfectly sweet. The cream cheese on the top was so yummy. I think, its the best cup cake I've eaten so far. As I sat in the sitting area, I loved the look on everybody's faces & the way all were relishing their cup cakes.

Authentic Japanese food corner Smile May 22, 2012

On the weekend, My hubby was game to have some Japanese food. We were shopping in Central Mall, Clarke Quay & spotted ' Ten restaurant'. As they say ' The first impression is the last impression' just looking at the restaurant, we fell in love with it. It's a simple, yet elegant dining place. It has 2 dining sections, inside & outside. It has wooden furniture & beautiful wall paintings. We had a look at the menu, which was placed outside the restaurant, before we decided on dining there. The menu was pretty impressive. The staff were friendly & greeted us with warm smiles. we chose a corner table & placed our order.
Iced lemon tea, California maki, beef rice bowl & fritters-veg/seafood. The Iced tea was immediately served, followed by California maki. It was super tasty. Then we were served Miso soup & some pickles, which were tasty as well. Then came the Beef bowl and the fritters. The fritters were so tasty. They were crispy, crunchy & had an amazing blend of vegetables & seafood. The beef bowl was great as well, it was spicy,as we had requested it to be. The portions served aren't that great, but the food is really tasty & worth it. We would definitely dine at 'Ten Restaurant' often, since the location is really convenient & the food is great. It is a perfect restaurant to try out Japanese cuisine.

We recently went to Megumi Japanese Restaurant. Its located in an HDB setup in Clementi-Sunset way. I've been to Megumi twice & I love their food. The ambience of the place is great & so is the staff, very polite & friendly. I went through the menu & decided to order a Katsu curry rice (rice served with Ramen curry & a pork cutlet, I simply loved it. Im a great fan of Ramen flavour anyways. I ended my meal with a green tea ice cream, which was nice as well.

Hi tea Buffet Smile Apr 17, 2012

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Hotel | Restaurant | Sushi/Sashimi | Buffet

I was invited to be part of the ORTU event held by Openrice.com, which was held over the weekend at Plaza Brasserie- Park Royal, Beach road. I must admit, I was impressed,as the saw the restaurant. Its a simple but elegant place. I saw lots of people dining there. We were directed to our table, where we were introduced to other Openricers, then the Restaurant Manager Karen, guided us around the buffet and showed us the food offered at the buffet, the Signature dishes of Plaza Brasserie, her personal favourites etc.

I was amazed to see the spread offered. There is a Sushi & sashimi counter, Noodle counter, Indian counter (Pratas, tandoori chicken, tandoori fish), Salad bar, Dim sum counter, Shawarma counter, chinese chicken rice and veggies, sandwich mix and match, cakes & chocolate fondue, ice shaved section, ice creams and beverages (coffee, milk tea, Twinings tea bags, milo). Looking at so much of food, definitely got me confused as to what to try and what not to try :-).

I tried the Tandoori fish & chicken, prata, Shawarma, Sashimi, Sushi, Crispy soft shell crab, satong, pork meat balls, dimsums, salads, tea & the desserts. My personal favourites were the crispy soft shell crab, the fish tandoori, Shawarma, Pork dimsums, drunken prawns & the cakes (chocolate, blueberry cheese & carrot)

We ate till we got stuffed. After that, we were interviewed for our feedback about Openrice & the Buffet at Plaza Brasserie. Finally, when we thought its over, we were served with a yummy carrot cake & iced Mocha which has recently been added to the Plaza Brasserie Menu. The staff who served us were very polite & friendly too. We enjoyed ourselves, shared alot of food experiences, had a lovely meal & came back home with free dining vouchers from Plaza Brasserie. it was a perfect start to a weekend.
