Terrible ramen Cry Nov 14, 2010

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Ramen | Brunch | Kids-Friendly

Went there with two other friends to try their ramen and we were very dissapointed. The noodles tasted like any food court grade ramen noodles. Soup does not taste good and is a far cry from authentic ramen stores. Also, the menu is priced on the high side.

Overpriced, sub-standard Cry Nov 13, 2010

IMHO, the hokkien noodles, char kway teow, carrot cakes served by this stall is not at all nice. The hokkien noodle is fried in one big wok at one go and dished out as customers orders. I once had a cold plate of noodles. huffy The prawns that was added on top of the noodles are definitely cold and tasteless.

The carrot cake was nothing special. No different from the carrot cake that you can get at more than 50%off t hawker centres.

Absolutely not worth the $4.80 price tag for the smallest serving!

Avoid! Cry Nov 13, 2010

This store has no relation to the 7th storey steamboat that used to operate at the 7th storey hotel at Beach Road. They used to operate opposite their current location, selling local food.

First of all, I find the staff rather rude. In fact, it is the same crew.

Their chicken rice taste horrible. It is not fragrant and quite oily. The hor fun that I had was just average.

Th food is definitely not worth the price tag.

I won't pay to eat there. Cry Nov 13, 2010

I had the buffet lunch as I was attending a seminar held in the hotel. There is quite a variety of choices available, but the quality of the food does not match the expectations one would associate with the price tag.

Curry noodles - I had to boil the noodles myself, which is surprising for a five star hotel. Worst of all, the curry gravy tasted weird. Not even close to the curry that you can get in any hawker centres.

Buffet courses - Tried a few dishes and none was able to stand out. In fact, I cannot even remember them!

Dessert - The cakes were average. You can find better pastries at other buffets.

Stick to their Beach Road store! Cry Nov 13, 2010

My dad and I went to this store thinking that the offering will be the same as their Beach Road store. We were wrong!

The bah kut teh soup was diluted and does not taste like their offering at Beach Road.

Very disappointing.
