Cheng Tng Smile Mar 04, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Hawker Centre | Desserts and Cakes

Was looking for cold dessert as the weather was really hot and decided to try out this cheng tng stall with a long queue. fThere were lots of ingredients in the cheng tng, such as sweet potato, white fungus, dried persimmon, gingko and the white "pearls". The soup was slightly sweet for me. Overall, i enjoyed this dessert, though i find it slightly expensive ($2 per bowl).

Bubble milk tea OK Mar 04, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Stall / Kiosk | Juices | Kids-Friendly

Was looking for a drink along orchard area as the weather was hot and dry and chanced upon this bubble tea outlet. The icon was quite cute and there wasn't a queue and hence decided to give it a try. I ordered the bubble milk tea with 25% sugar. The milk tea was tasted average, but the pearls were chewy. The milk tea cost $2.50 which i thought was slightly expensive.

Pork chop OK Mar 04, 2012

Categories : Hawker Centre | BBQ

The pork chop was nicely grilled in appearance but slightly tough. The garlic sauce on the pork chop was really delicious, and blended well with the meat, but the sauce was too little for the rather big piece of meat. The fries were average. The whole set cost $5.50 which i thought was slightly expensive as the stall was located at hawker centre.

Was recommended by friend to try this place that serves fusion food. There was a huge variety to choose from and we were spolit for choice and in the end we decided to order a few dishes to share. The mee sua in crab meat broth was one of my favourite dishes, the soup was thick and flavourful, the mee sua was well-cooked, not too soggy, the serving was big, definitely could be a main dish to share for 2 persons, and surprisingly it cost less than $10. I also love the beef slices, they were tender and juicy, and were served with truffle mash potato.

Yong tau foo Smile Mar 03, 2012

Categories : Singaporean | Food Court | Hawker Centre

Large variety to choose from, each piece is huge and neatly placed on the trays, really look appetising. I like the soft beancurd with fish paste, fried rectangular fish cake and yam in fried beancurd skin. The sweet sauce was yummy but the chili sauce was too spicy for me. The serving was big, I was really full after having 7 pieces of yong tau foo and noodles.
