Somewhat reminiscent of Uncle Leong's crab bee hoon, Don crab bee hoon is the soupy version that is served in a claypot. Brimming with the concentrated essence of crabs and a gentle tinged of spices, the mouthwatering gravy is exceptionally savory, giving every strand of bee hoon a delicate coat of irresistible flavor. The medium sized crab is indeed fresh and tasty with robust flesh that is sweet and appetizing.

Compared with Uncle Leong's famous crab bee hoon which costs at least $30, Don crab bee hoon is smaller and less costly priced at $16. But it is definitely sufficient to satisfy one's craving for crabs.

I ordered a $3 plate of wanton mee which comes with special egg noodle that is topped with fresh char siew and crispy fried wanton and a bowl of dumpling soup. I guess I did not do justice to the dumpling soup which I left out of the picture. But on that day, the soup was served later and I was too hungry to wait. So I just took a picture of the noodles and started eating. Nevertheless I savoured the soup and the tasty dumplings at the end.

Unlike Sin Hoe Hin, Da Jie Famous Wanton Noodle is more of the traditional Cantonese style than KL dark sauce wanton mee. Don't miss this wanton mee that is delicious and value-for-money.

At first taste, I could only taste the sweetness then the spiciness sets in. I'm not a big chilli fan but I could still fairly appreciate the full flavor of it. There's a lot of chilli padi so for those who do not absolutely tolerate spiciness do not try it please. Go for their ginger and spring onion frog. Maybe I should try that someday as well. Who knows it might even taste better than what they are famous for: Gong Bao Frog? The porridge is pretty normal for me.
