Cake Spade has been on my "must visit" list since I first heard of it a few months ago. Other than the fact that I've always been attracted to Kate Spade (the fashion brand), I am a huge dessert freak and these kinds of places always have my attention. I was with three other friends so each of us ordered something. On the top, next to the Lemon Tea drink ($3+), that's the Banana Choc Cake. Below that on the left, that's the baked bottom chocolate cake (or something like, I can't really remember). The rectangular thing on the right is the nutella crumble brownie, and finally, the white bowl contains the molten choc cake. All four desserts added up to a grand total of $20+ so that means each treat was approx. $5. Affordable, right?

Everything was pretty good, but two things that I liked were the nutella crumble brownie and the molten lava cake (although I would've preferred more 'lava' and a tad bit more sweetness). I really wanted to try their red velvet and tofu cheesecakes but sadly, they were all sold out by 8pm+! I will definitely be back to try them but you should come early to avoid disappointment.

Side note: there aren't many seats available (we had to ask if they had extra tables and chairs somewhere) and no water is served here so... those are some things they should look into.

I think Seventh Heaven is one of the best places to come for desserts. Sure, not everything on the menu is a hit, but I think it's a matter of identifying the better ones and sticking with it.The last time I was here I tried the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Pie and the Marshmallow Brownie Crunch. This time round, I finally got to try the Warm Chocolate Cake. As usual, it took about 15-20 mins to make but hey, I'm cool with the wait as long as it's for lava cake!

I must say Seventh Heaven's rendition of this well-loved treat really wasn't that bad. I've had worse. The consistency wasn't too shabby and the sweetness wasn't too much to handle.

Came here with a girlfriend of mine because Park was closed (doh!). Amici had long been on my list of must-try's and since everyone says it's good, I thought to myself: "Why not?"We had the sauteed mushrooms for starters. This was good but I think mushrooms are always a safe choice. Mushrooms already have this irresistible umami-ness so you can't really go wrong preparing it or eating it.As for the mains, initially I wanted Vongole but since it was sold out, both of us chose a carbonara-type dish. My friend had the risotto while I had the pasta. I was a little disappointed at how average the pasta was. It was a little heavier than usual (some may like it), but unfortunately, it didn't hit the spot for me. As for my friend, she said the risotto was just too "gelat".

We noticed everyone else ordering seafood/tomato-based pasta and they all smelled really good so.. perhaps we made the wrong choice. I still trust other Italian eateries for great food. For now, just not Amici.

Decided to try the prawn noodles here as the queue's forever long. The wait wasn't that long, and it was pretty bearable. Plus, the super friendly uncle (I'm guessing he's the owner) goes down the line to take orders to speed things up.I actually wanted the prawn noodle with pig tail but that was already sold out by lunchtime. Instead, I had the prawn noodles with pork ribs. Think it costed about $4. Again, I have to emphasise that the uncle at this stall is soooo friendly. He makes jokes when taking orders, is always smiling and tells you to "take more of whatever you like", be it chilli powder, soya sauce, etc. Such a sweetie. I LOVE good service, especially at a hawker centre!!

The prawn noodles were pretty good. The soup was light compared to many others I've tried, and the pork ribs were PACKED with flavour. I could taste the peppery goodness with every bite. Very well-marinated I must say! The prawns on the other hand, weren't that big and there wasn't anything special about them. Overall, it's tasty but I've had much better elsewhere (unless you're talking about the pork ribs alone - now THAT'S special). I wouldn't mind coming back though!

I can't begin to describe how much I can't stand bad service. At The Sushi Bar, they're not at all attentive, super slow and a little rude, in my honest opinion. But whatever, the food is good and that's part of what matters. This is the Salmon Don. Fish was pretty fresh and the rice was truly superb, really sticky and just the right amount of sweetness - exactly how I like it.

Will come back, provided I have patience for the service the day I decide to visit again.
