My colleagues told me about this place and since Friday's "spend a little more on nice food" day, we decided on Marmalade Toast for lunch.

I ordered the cold prawn wrap, which had avocado slices in it. Not a big fan of that creamy stuff, but it added a nice touch. The prawns were fresh and firm.

For dessert, we ordered the red velvet (left) and smores cupcake (right). The red velvet is so-so, smores was a little bit too sweet and the textures in the cupcake were kinda all over the place. I'm guessing this is a sub-outlet of Marmalade Pantry so it's the same range of cupcakes as the ones there.

P.S. The reason why I'm giving this store a low rating for the cleanliness portion is cos when they were preparing the food in the open kitchen, the lady was coughing right into our food. It was really gross. I had to tell the cashier before they stopped her. Ugh....

Junk food galore at EWF Smile Feb 13, 2013

Great

Great

EWF is an eatery that won't let you down. I've been here several times, but this was my first time trying the Slider Burger. It was really good! The bacon strips with mushrooms, meat and melted cheese were so sinfully delicious. I didn't finish everything cos the meal's actually quite filling. Also loved the salt & vinegar fries - my standard choice when I'm here.

A&W-like waffles sold here Smile Feb 13, 2013

The location of Milk & Honey is sorta like fish out of water - it's right smack in the middle of Bedok and you'd wonder all sorts of things about the place if you walk by. But do yourself a favour and give it a go because you won't regret it!!

I fell in love with the Sun-kiss orange ice cream, and Overly Mango. Great choices for a hot, hot day!
Great!

Great!

Another highlight of Milk & Honey is the waffles. I swear they taste just like the ones at locally extinct A&W. So awesome! smile

It's a fact: Singapore does not understand the concept of pie. Time and time again, my hopes are raised when I see the word "pie" on a menu, only to be dropped 200 feet from above. It's disappointing how we don't know how to make good, crusty, flaky pies here.

But all this changed when I tried the pies at Pies & Coffee. Firstly, the range of flavours impressed me. They're pretty daring and bold to have things like laksa pie on their menu!
Superb

Superb

I had the Wagyu Beef Cheek ($9+) and my boyf ordered the Chicken Cheddar ($8+). It was love at first bite. It's premium beef so you can expect top notch stuff, the wagyu beef is soooo tender and the flavours are excellent. The crust - bravo!! Pure perfection.

My boyf enjoyed the Chicken Cheddar too, the cheese wasn't too much and it was a very well-balanced pie.

I am coming back for everything else, including the Truffled Mushroom Soup which I only spotted after ordering. And the fact that it's located at Rochester Mall @ Buona Vista will not stop me! lol

Safe choice for a quick lunch OK Feb 13, 2013

Categories : Café

Headed over here for a quick bite during lunch with some colleagues. According to my fellow foodie colleague, the standard has dropped.

I had the beef pasta, which has large beef chunks, onions and carrots. The gravy was very little, making the dish dry and quite bland. I had to add loads of chilli flakes in to "save" my meal but alas, it didn't do too well. Oh well, the price is okay, and I just think that this is a safe choice if you're in a hurry.
