Ice Cream Time! OK Apr 25, 2013
Categories : American | Ice Cream and Gelato

I got so much of craving lately... Wanna try this... wanna try that. And Marble Slab is one of them. Wanna try their waffles but apparently is better to start off with their ice cream.

So I choose Cotton Candy flavour, top with assorted sprinkles.

The ice cream is creamy, I think probably to get that cotton feel. And is sweet. Hmm... maybe because of the additional sprinkles.

Well... I can't deny is nice but I will try it again other flavours plus WAFFLES! Yeah... tongue

Sweetness from within OK Apr 25, 2013
Categories : American | Fast Food | Ice Cream and Gelato | Burgers and Sandwiches | Kids-Friendly

As usual Mcdonald's is not just a place for fastfood but also a place where students like to hang out during their examination time. So am I.

Chose this outlet because away from the noisy shopping mall, although is unavoidable anywhere.

Was there studying for exam with my friend and after a Jasmine Green Tea, I decided to grab another drink because is still early. So I tried Lychee Fizz. Something new. Because I look around and saw this pretty thing others are drinking away. Don't you think so?

But kind of regret. A little too sweet for me. My sweetness tolerance level is like 50% but this Lychee Fizz is a little over that. In order not to waste it, I let it dilute with the ice in it to minimise the sweetness a little. Well it helps. But it has the cooling effect during the hot season which we are experiencing right now.

So if you are a sweet tooth, do give it a try.

Budget meal OK Mar 20, 2013
Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Noodles

tonguesmile Went to their outlet at newly renovated 133 New Bridge Road, Chinatown Point, #02-34.

Had their set meals at $7.80++ which include a main course and selected drink. Plus additional side dishes at $2 each.

Lotus Leaf Chicken Chop Fried Rice: When they serve up his fried rice, the first thing that hits your sense is the aromatic smell of chicken chop. Damn nice. Comes with a soup too. But my guy doesn't like the taste of their soup and so never finish up that bowl in the end. But for the chicken chop, I try a small bits. The meat is surrounded by fats and end up, it is like once you bite, the fats is oozing out instead of the real taste of that chicken meat. That's all I can say. But the crispiness on the outside remains. The fried rice is savoury. Can I say it is like Yang Chow Fried Rice?

XO Fried Noodles: Actually is a Seafood fried noodles. There is sotong and prawns, along with onions, red and green peppers. It is confirmed tasty which comes with a little saltiness and greasy too though, still bearable.

Side dishes - Crispy Silver fish and String bean with pork: This silver fish looks so appealing to me and it tastes yum yum. It is like a snack which once you started, you can't stop. It also tastes a little crunchy. Nom nom... I love it. The oiliness is bearable. I wonder if they sprinkle some paprika on top. The other side I will recommend is this Stringbean with pork. Okay from here you can only see the beans and no pork. I never realise till I see my order slip and as I eat further, the pathetic bits of pork can be seen inside. Minced pork and very little. But I concentrated only on their beans. It tastes crunchy and savoury and bearable level of oiliness.

Overall, if you are looking for budget meal please have this in your list. There are other choices in their menu which you can order ala carte instead of their set meal which limits to three choices for each category (main course, drinks and side dishes).

Steamboat Dinner for 5 OK Mar 19, 2013
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hot Pot | BBQ

smile The bill comes up about $180++. There are varieties of soup base to choose from and my fav will be tom yum but as it goes dry, saltiness can be felt so remember to ask them for refill. The food variety is okay. Lots of seafood and meat, plus different types of noodles. It is sold package. But please note that it does not include any drinks, if I'm not wrong. We ordered flower tea separately. Provides u with 3 types of sauces and if you need those cut chilli, do ask from them. There are desserts available. We ordered banana split. Overall is just a normal steamboat restaurant. If you are a steamboat lover and like hopping around different steamboat restaurant, include this in your list though I would not come again after a first try.

Custard Bun OK Mar 19, 2013
Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Bakery | Desserts and Cakes

Have been searching high and low for this old time favourite Custard Bun and finally found it. smile

Honestly, I went there in the afternoon. Bought two of them. The bun is a little harden but still bearable. Ya... Maybe the freshness level. The custard inside is awesome. The sweetness level is just right for me. However the bun is a little too big and thick, and the custard is not enough. How nice it can be if the bun is overflowing with custard. I will still come back for this once awhile.
