Fluffy Mashed Potato Smile Jun 14, 2013

My friend was raving about how fluffy and cloud-like the mashed potato from Poulet was, so I had to give it a try. It is one of the side dishes, and portion enough for 2 or 3 to share so that you won't be too full for other dishes. It was indeed fluffy, creamy and a little buttery, one of the better mashed potato I have had. I also had their escargots, which was very flavourful and I loved the bits of pesto(?) added in the sauce.

Chili Crab Toastoo Smile Jun 13, 2013

I first visited &Made a while back when they first started, and the space wasn't shared with L'Entrecote Express. They are famous for their burgers, but what attracted me was the uncommon Chili Crab Toastoo, basically a sandwich made from buckwheat crepe. The chili crab filing was a little creamy, and not very spicy, with a slightly sweet taste. I liked the buckwheat crepe as well, something different from your usual bread.

Good chinese cuisine Smile Jun 13, 2013

Chu dao is one of the relatively new food place offering chinese cuisine in the joo chiat area. They have a wide variety of dishes to choose from. I ordered the Three Kinds of Vegetables in Wok-fried X.O. Chilli Sauce - loved the x.o. chilli sauce, but they could do more with it as too little was given. I also had the Homemade Egg Beancurd with Shrimp paste, crabmeat and roe - this dish is my favourite, the beancurd was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the gravy had real crab meat and roe, and was very flavourful.

Cheese Tart Smile Jun 13, 2013

I have had flor's matcha cake before and it was quite good, and I decided to drop by and see what other pastries they have to offer. I was attracted by their chilled cheese tarts - they were placed in a freezer and individually packed, able to last 1 to 2 hours without refrigeration. I chose the green tea yuzu flavoured one. The green tea taste was very strong, and I love the crust of the tart - not too crumbly, just right, and the cheese was moist. Recommended.

Good Hotcakes Smile Jun 07, 2013

My friend was raving about the Banana Hotcakes from Spruce, and as a pancake lover, I just had to give it a try. The portion was HUGE and enough for 3. The hotcakes were drizzled with honeycomb butter and blueberry syrup, accompanied by granola crumbs which I loved, added a crunchy feel to every bite. There were also fresh blueberries at the sides. Banana slices were on the topped and in between the hotcakes. Good combination and delicious.
