Ice cream Smile Jul 17, 2013

Categories : Café | Ice Cream and Gelato

The ice cream café has a chic old school ambience. The ice cream selection was quite wide with many local favourites like Pulau Hitam (excellent) and double sesame which was what I had. The sesame ice cream itself was very thick and there was obvious evidence of generous ingredients used to make the ice cream. At a reasonable price of around $3 a scoop (compared to other places), Island Creamery will certainly be revisited.

Green Tea Soya Smile Jul 17, 2013

I was feeling thirsty after lunch and caught sight of a Jollibean branch, hence I decided to try their matcha soya bean which costs $2.40. My tip is to finish drinking when it is still cold only because when it gets warmer, the drink becomes somewhat bitter when soya bean is mixed with matcha powder. They added quite a lot of matcha powder I guess, which explains the slightly bitter taste which was distinct. The drink is also not sweet, which was good for me.

Yogurt Smile Jul 14, 2013

I have always been a fan of yami yogurt, and they always have many new flavours that attract me. Yami yogurt is a healthy choice if you are craving for something sweet. I was looking for some dessert after a meal, and decided to get the blackcurrant flavoured yogurt, which I think costs around $2.30 for the smallest cup. Blackcurrant flavour was not too strong, but able to taste it. This flavour is better than the green tea one.

Katong Chicken Rice Smile Jul 13, 2013   (Related Review)

I went Teo Heng the other day, and decided to have chicken rice again, which is located in the same building at the basement of katong shopping centre. Their chicken rice is one of the most popular stalls, and indeed, the chicken rice was fragrant and tasty. The soup that day was I think some pork rib soup, which you can ask for more; soup was flavourful and not too salty. Veggies were average though, but goes well with rice.

Indian Food Smile Jul 13, 2013

This is one of my friend's favourite Indian restaurants, and I went along to try out their food, even though I'm not quite a fan of Indian food. We had the small tandoori platter which costs around $19; the chicken was well marinated and very flavourful. We also had the garlic naan and plain naan, which costs around $6. I loved their naan as the dough was very fragrant and crispy.
