Astons is one of my favourite for western food, as it is consider to be one of the cheap and good restaurant.
I ordered a black pepper chicken with baked potato and house salad as my side.
The chicken was tender and juicy, while the baked potato was damn tasty as the butter had enhanced the taste.
However, I think the salad need some improvement as it was too soggy, but I think this meal is worthy of my $8.90.

Whenever I have craving for thai food, I will visit Jai Thai because of its reasonable and authentic thai food. As I would like to try out few of their dishes, I ordered their pineapple rice set meal which consist of pineapple rice and 4 sides, drinks and dessert of the day. The 4 sides include Spring Roll, green curry chicken, fish with chilli sauce and pandan chicken.

Their pineapple rice was tasty and fragrant and along with the green curry was even better. However, it would have been better if the pandan chicken have a stronger pandan flavour. Lastly, it only cost $9.80 for set, thus it is definitely worth it.

Going to this cafe will be a hassle if you are taking public transport, as it is located at serangoon private estate area. The ambience of this cafe gave me a warm and comfortable feeling, thus I didn't regret coming here. By the recommendation of the server, I decided to order a waffle topped with salted caramel ice cream. The waffle was done perfectly and it was piping hot when served along with the ice cream, this dish is just too awesome. I will definitely come back to try the rest of their dessert soon.

Have you ever heard of Gangster Ice? It is a creation by the owner, which is made of mango ice and durian flesh. There were generous serving of mango cubes drizzled over with condensed milk and topped with a scoop of durian.
I like the mango most as it is sweet and rich in taste, but the durian would have better if it is less watery. I will definitely recommend my friends to check out this dessert stall.

Stepping into the restaurant, I was greeted by a dark theme followed by a warm bright light. Next, the waiting time of the ramen was fast and prompt. Having an ongoing lunch ramen special promotion, which consist of ramen and 1 side for just $14.90 seems attractive. I ordered a black ramen for my main and fried chicken for my side. If you are a person that prefer thick broth, then this black ramen is definitely for you. Personally i like the taste of the soup as it is very rich and the noodle texture were soft, but one downside would be the cha shu, as it was not tender enough, but overall the ramen was still acceptable.
