Yogurt Cake Smile Aug 26, 2013   (Related Review)

Went to 112 Katong to get the Yogurt Cake for a friend's birthday - seems a novelty to me. Ice cream cakes are pretty common these days but not yogurt cake. The cakes seems to melt pretty fast. The flavour is strawberry, with a layer of whipped cream on top with chocolate flakes and a layer of sponge below, presumably to hold the cake together. The cake itself is nice as i like yogurt.

Hokkien Noodle OK Aug 25, 2013

The hokkien noodle stall at Changi Village did not have too many people queuing so i decided to give it a try. Ordered a small plate of hokkien noodle. The size is pretty ok, with a few pieces of pork and prawns and sotong with it. The chilla sauce is a little watery and not thick enough. The noodle is not too oily which is good. Normal and not entirely fantastic in my opinion.

Fishy Meal OK Aug 25, 2013

The P.S Cafe at Dempsey. This dish is a snapper fillet on smoked salmon with figs, grilled potatoes and veggie compote. I like fish as compared to meaty stuff so this meal appeals to me. The snapper is done quite well but the salmon could have been a little softer - less cooked (i love half cooked salmon). The vegetables are passable and not wonderful, but the sauce goes well with the fish.

Cake Dessert OK Aug 24, 2013

Ordered a cake from maple and market at somewhere in geylang. Weren't too many people at the place when i went. The cake was good, chunky and big enough (good portion to share for couples actually). The glazing was sweet but too overbearing and the sponge part was nice enough. Worth a try and will definitely go back to try other flavours of theirs. The price is acceptable as well.

Thai Food OK Aug 24, 2013

Fried Tung Hoon. The portion was a little small, but had a lot of different stuff in it. There're tomatos, veg, prawns etc. Not sufficient for a single male I believe, but good enough if one doesn't eat a lot.

(stir) fried vegetable. The portion, again, was surprisingly small and probably insufficient for a few people to share. The sauce is a little salty. But it's okay if it goes with rice.
