Set Meal OK Aug 22, 2013

My mum brought me to this takeaway stall and according to her, it's quite famous.

I don't really know what this is called. It is made of meat, chestnut fried together. A little like fried ngoh hiang. It taste ok, not too bad. But not for me as it's a little too meaty.

Garlic fish. This is ok to go with rice. Not spectacular, but passable.

Fried kangkong. Normal fried chilli kangkong, which was a little too oily for my liking.

Ice cream waffle OK Aug 22, 2013

Marble slab creamery ice cream parlor at Bugis+ (formerly illuma). The two scoops of ice cream are green tea flavour and red velvet flavour respectively. The green tea is passable (average) and the taste of the green tea (matcha) is not as strong as i would like it (compared to premium japanese matcha ice cream). The red velvet ice cream is red and velvety, but just a little too sweet for my liking.

Thai Accent Meal OK Aug 22, 2013   (Related Review)

This is my second time at the Vivo City thai accent. Ordered pineapple fried rice and the red tom yum soup this time round. The pineapple fried rice arrive warm (not piping hot as I would like it to be) and the taste of the yellow powder (spice) is too strong for my liking. The tom yum soup is very spicy but good. It will probably go better with plain rice instead of fried rice.

Bee Hoon Meal OK Aug 21, 2013

Categories : Hawker Centre | Halal

Apparently this franchise has many outlets (as told by my friend), but this is my first time trying. The economy bee hoon is so so, not too good, probably just passable and i'll have vegetarian bee hoon at a nice hawker stall over this anyday. The otah is ok, not too bad, but once again nothing too special. Good to go if you're looking for a quick meal to pack for lunch or so.

Herbal Chicken Smile Aug 21, 2013

Came to this stall famous for its bak kuh teh but ended up having herbal chicken instead. The herbal chicken (thankfully) came with a complimentary bowl of bak kuh teh soup, so one can have the best of both worlds. The taste of the soup is unique, having been brewed with a lot of herbs (not the usual bak kuh teh). But i personally love the herbal taste so i guess it's fine. The herbal chicken is very good, sufficiently brewed with herbs, not too salty and with some soup as well.
