Delhi restaurant has been Nominated Singapore’s 100 Best Restaurants by Singapore Tatler numerous times. Located in Little India in Singapore, the ambience at Delhi restaurant puts us at ease immediately.
Our experience at Delhi Restaurant was nothing short of amazing; our only regret was that we didn’t have enough stomach space to try more of their dishes! We highly recommend trying out all their chicken dishes as all they never failed to wow us with its tenderness. Though Delhi restaurant is managed by Chinese couple Clifford and Diana, the crew behind the kitchen door is made up of authentic Indian chefs, lovely proof that cultural intermingling can produce really great food!
Must try Mango Lassi (5.00),Chicken Malai tikka (11.00),Gobhi Manchurian (11.00),Butter chicken (13.00),Bhoona Gosht (12.00) and 1/2 mix grill sizzler (18.00)

Tucked away in a small little corner at The Plaza just a couple of minutes’ walk away from Nicoll Highway MRT, is a hidden gem that specialises in Panini. If you don’t already know, Panini is a sandwich made with Italian bread that is usually toasted. Walking into the café, the design of the shop sure suited its name, filled with only black and white decors. It was not the most fanciful of cafes, but it was very simple and neat, with cosy yellow lighting, making it rather homely anyway.
Here’s one more reason for you to check out Black & White Caffebar: You do not have to worry about service charge or GST! Black & White caffebar also have special lunch sets at $10 where you get to enjoy a Panini, with a cup of coffee/tea plus whatever dessert’s on the shelf.

Great curry and prata

Great curry and prata

salivating mutton curry

salivating mutton curry

We had tried many of the “Famous” roti prata around Singapore, from the Jalan Kayu to the Tampines and few others that used to be the talk of the town. However, most of the standard and quality have since been deteriorating so much that we are redundant to put it down as part of our review. We are vexed that the new generation or new business taking over seems not able to appreciate the art of the food, and allowing the centuries of glory built up ruined in the hand of the slothful generations. Will there be more poignant stories, we hope not.
So far, we are so glad that Sin Ming Roti Prata unwaveringly preserves the dignity of the brand by maintaining the excellent standard throughout the years. We truly kowtow to the stall.
Be it the regular prata or the coin prata, the dough are the same, though there is a wide range of add on options available to perk up your taste buds, we adamantly steadfast to the plain and egg version as it gives the most original taste and flavour of the good prata without masked by other flavours. We are truly impressed by the flavourful and fantastic texture of the prata, the prata are fluffy, chewy with crisp on the exterior and the taste were simply additive that you can eat on its own without dipping into the curry sauce. We love the fragrance of the buttery sweet taste from the dough and frankly, we can’t find any other roti prata able to whip up the same standard as Sin Ming Roti Prata so far.
The standard roti prata from Sin Ming Roti Prata usually comes with either the fish or chicken curry, all the gravy are thick and savory, there is only a word to describe the curry “Damn Shiok”. We ordered the extra mutton curry so not to miss the dish. The mutton was tender and cooked to the perfection, eating with the prata made our brunch a wonderful meal for the weekend.

Chocolate de Tart ($6.80)
Light and crispy chocolate crust on the outside, filled with soft rich chocolate mousse on the inside. We highly recommend this one!

Cinnamon Pear Tart ($7.50)
Another one of our to-die-for, crust was exceptionally crispy and full of tasty buttery goodness; we couldn’t get enough of it! The chunks of pears were also very fresh and crunchy.

Drips Bakery Café really lived up to its tagline that they specialise in tarts! Their fruit tarts are a must try; do come early so you won’t miss out on any of them! The downside is that they different tarts are available on different days; you’ve got to be pretty lucky for you might not get what you want.

We were elated to see a shop selling freshly made Japanese soft cheese cake. Not sure how many of you can recall in the mid 90s, the chain bakery shop called Miki Ojisan No Mise selling the cotton soft and cheesy Japanese cheese cake? The cheese cake that was well known with an imprint of the cartoon chef with closed eyes on the cake? If you were lucky enough and had a taste of this light cheese cake before, it is difficult to forget the salivating of the cake even after so many years, during the time, it was such a luscious to wolf down a few slices of the Miki Ojisan cake in a day. Unfortunately, the glory of our favorite cheese cake somehow perished from the market and Miki Ojisan No Mise has since become part of the history, a cruel fact of ailing business that not able to withstand the test of time.

Can Kiroi Freshly Baked Cheese Cake revive the glory and rekindle our affinity love with Miki Ojisan No Mise Cheese cake? Read our full review at www.ieatandeat/kiroi-freshly-baked-cheese-cake
