Delicious food @ Bao Today Smile Sep 22, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Dim Sum

After looking online for places to eat at Marina Square, we came across this interesting eatery called Bao Today (包今天) - a cute name possibly trying to mimic 包青天 tongue I think my profile did mention that I'm a fan of dim sum, thus we went there to have our lunch! At Bao Today, there is no service charge, so diners will have to tick their orders on the sheet of paper and submit it together with payment at the counter before any food is served.

We didn't have to wait very long for our food, due to the efficient service of the staff. We ordered a steamed chicken glutinous rice in bamboo shoot ($6.80) and a cheesy seafood baked rice ($7.80) to share. I absolutely love the steamed chicken glutinous rice!! lol Generous amounts of tender chicken with yummy glutinous rice. The cheesy baked rice was good too as it was served steaming hot, and with lots of seafood inside. Extremely satisfied and we will go back there very soon!!

Billy Bombers, one of the higher end western dining places do serves some really awesome ice creams lol We were having a friends gathering and was looking for some place to chill after our lunch. We were at The Cathay so we dropped by Billy Bombers for some of their magnificent ice cream! I ordered a banana split sundae which was really good. Would love to go Billy Bombers for more ice cream more often, if I have the money.. since it's rather pricey here mad

Sushi Buffet @ Sakae Sushi Smile Sep 21, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

Sakae Sushi used to be one of the favourite hangouts during the school days, where their sushi buffets would be very popular with large groups of youths. There are 2 kind of sushi buffet at Sakae - one where each person is entitled to only one red and one pink plate; and the other is an All-You-Can-Eat buffet with no restrictions. We chose the All-You-Can-Eat buffet (so that I can eat more of those lovely sashimis lol

The thing I like about Sake's sushi is that they are rather fresh and so is their sashimi. LOVE THE CHAWAMUSHI!! Full and satisfied! lol

Recommended Dish(es):  All-You-Can-Eat buffet

Spending per head: Approximately $25(Dinner)

Sweet Treats @ Baker's Well Smile Sep 21, 2013

Categories : Bakery | Desserts and Cakes | Juices

Many times I walked past Baker's Well at East Coast Rd and the fragrant smell of bread and muffins would make me feel so tempted to buy them. So while waiting for the nearby dog cafe - We're the Furballs (WTF) to open, my boyfriend and I dropped by Baker's Well for a snack as well as to kill some time. Over the 2 years that I have not been to Baker's Well, they have added an interior dining area - it was just takeaway in the past. However, in-dining charges a slightly higher price for the cakes and tarts they sell as compared to takeaway.

We ordered an eclair and mango tart with a drink. The eclair is not bad, and I love the mango tart!! Slightly pricey as compared to outside but once in a while it's ok for a sweet treat smile

Recommended Dish(es):  Mango tart,eclair

Spending per head: Approximately $10(Tea)

At Plaza Singapura - Tokyo Walker there is a cluster of Japanese dining restaurants, one of them is Fruit Paradise. Fruit Paradise offers fruit tarts and cakes that are topped with fresh fruits that brings delight to your palette! We wanted to have something sweet after our lunch meal thus we dropped by fruit paradise to get a slice of blueberry cake. Soft and creamy cake topped with sweet and juicy blueberries and light cherry sauce. Extremely good and light for the stomach after a hearty lunch! Must try lol
