Red Mango! Smile Oct 23, 2013
Categories : Frozen Yogurt

For the best youghurt goodness you can find in Singapore, I will definitely recommend Red Mango! Boasting several outlets across our sunny island, Red Mango offers a refreshing taste packed with quality.

Each day, Red Mango offers either original flavour or a fruity flavour for their yoghurt that changes everyday, offering a nice variety to choose from. Speaking of variety, they have a vast selection of toppings available, from fruits to nuts to sprinkles. It is really a good mix and I'll definitely recommend grabbing their fruits and nuts toppings - Healthy and they are very generous when it comes to portion size. The yoghurt itself isn't too sweet yet still rich in flavour, and the toppings you pick do complement it well. I recommend you don't pick too many sweet toppings though otherwise your yoghurt might become a bit too rich! Do give Red Mango a try as a healthier alternative to ice cream!

The Prata Place! Smile Oct 23, 2013

Categories : Indian

I remembered I came here a long long time ago when I was still a small kid with my family, so I finally made a return visit recently to feast on some prata again. This place is for all day dining as it opens til late and is suitable for supper!

Roti John, Chocolate Tissue, Egg Prata and prata! The plain prata was crispy and warm in the inside and absolutely delicious! The same went for the egg prata - Equally crispy and fluffy. Both pratas are especially tasty when eaten with the curry gravy given which had a spicy yet satisfying feel to it.

The roti john made a very delicious snack! Toasted bread filled with eggs, meat with a nice spread of mayo and chilli sauce makes a very awesome meal! THe protion was very generous and the meat was well cooked and evenly spread. The chocolate tissue prata was decent and sweet thanks to the wide spread of chocolate sauce. All in all a very good meal, but remember to drink lots of water after this heaty meal!

Brunch at Cedele! Smile Oct 23, 2013

Categories : Café

Brunch! Plenty of Brunching places in Singapore, and this time me and my girlfriend decided to give Cedele a try! Cedele is known for tasty bread and awesome cakes, but we decided to have a go at their breakfast offerings! Cedele provides all day breakfast, and you can top off your meal with some desserts.

The apple cinnamon pancakes comes with maple syrup and a choice of either bacon or sausages. The pancakes aren't too big and of a nice round shaped size and they're a treat on the eyes. There was a generous amount of apples and a rich taste of cinnamon in the pancakes that complimented the overall taste. Maple syrup wasn't required as the pancakes were pretty much delicious by their own. The texture of the pancake was fluffy and warm and just right for a decent meal.

The big breakfast set is a combination of various items: Sausage, bacon, eggs, toast and salad. It was decent but average and the pancakes stood out more compared to the big breakfast set. If you're at cedele for brunch, grab the pancakes!

Fish Soup at Burlington Square Smile Oct 23, 2013

Categories : Thai | Singaporean Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Steamboat/Hot Pot

Hot Spot Cafe Restaurant is located on the outside of the ground floor of Burlington Square and it has several stalls in the restaurant. Opposite Sim Lim Square, it can get crowded during the lunch hour and for good reason too. The first stall sells fish soup and is indisputably the most popular stall there.

I had the normal fish soup for a meal but you can order Tom Yam Soup if that suits you more! The soup itself was very good and suiting - Not too salty and not too bland, it was a perfect mix. The portion of fish, vegetables and noodles was very generous and the fish was delicious. You can order fried fish or a mix of normal and fried fish slices. This stall definitely deserves the reputation it has earned and you absolutely have to grab a bite here!

Dim Sim at Tak Po! Smile Oct 22, 2013
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Dim Sum

My brother brought my family to this dim sum restaurant in Chinatown and in my opinion if you were to look at taste, location and price, Tak Po is a really great place to go for dim sum! I brought my girlfriend for a quick meal here and these are the dishes we ordered:

The Steamed Egg cake is probably my favourite dish of the meal! It came warm and had a really nice fluffy texture to it! Tasty and divine! We had porridge with the century egg, and it was neither too salty or bland and had the right amount of taste. Siew Mai was decent and average. There's obviously much tastier siew mai in other restaurants, but at this place I would consider it a steal. It was served warm and the tastiness satisfied us. The Shrimp Chee Chong Fun was good and decent, they gave quite a number of shrimps in the filling so that was a plus point!

Do come earlier as the restaurant is usually very crowded during meal times!
