After hearing countless reviews on I Am, I knew I had to pay this cafe a visit! Brought my friend along with me to eat their beautiful looking desserts!

The cafe had an awkward queue system though. My friend and I had to queue in the walkway of the building opposite for a table. Both of us managed to get a table after 8 minutes or so. The cafe should consider expanding because it's really packed even though it's after lunch hour.

Since it's al fresco dining (there's no air conditioner), the cafe is situated right beside the main road, which makes it quite dusty to dine in. Also, birds can enter the cafe and eat the leftovers left by the customers.We waited for quite a while for the drink and desserts to arrive. The drink took more than 10 minutes to be served to us. Looks like I Am has to do something with its manpower.Stir It Up is the chef's recommendation. However, my friend and I didn't like the drink at all. We didn't even finish half of the glass. Considering the fact that we shared one drink, this means that there's lots of room of improvements for the drink. The chocolate tasted was very mild; the milk overpowered the whole drink. Also, it had a cherry after taste (I assume it's from the red syrup drizzled over the whipped cream) which I didn't like because I don't like cherries in the first place. In the menu, it stated that the drink will be garnished with a whole cherry, and not drizzled with cherry syrup. At $6.90++ for a drink, it's totally not worth it.The Rainbow Mille Crepe Cake is definitely Instagram-worthy, but not money and calories-worthy. The crepe itself is kind of bland and tasteless. The chocolate syrup helped to make the crepe a little sweeter, but still, this cake is a huge disappointment. The crepe reminds me of the "Malay kueh" taste. Weird. Lady M does much better Mille Crepe than this at the same price. $8.90++ for a Mille Crepe that's done badly? Oh hell no!I like Red Velvets myself, so obviously this RV would be the highlight of this cafe trip. But still, it's not good enough to compensate the shortcomings of the drink and Mille Crepe. This cake is very rich and dense, which makes it very jelak to eat after a while. On top of that, the portion is extremely huge, so it'll be a struggle to finish such a dense cake by your own. Advisable to share with 3 people. The chocolate taste is very mild, and the frosting tasted more like ordinary buttercream than cream cheese. I guess $8.90++ for such a huge slice of cake is reasonable, but I wouldn't buy it the second time.Would love to try the Pelangi (Rainbow in Malay) cake one day! Hopefully it will taste as nice as it looks!

I like Red Velvets a lot but this RV is just disappointing. Firstly, the cream cheese has a sticky texture to eat. I decided to remove the frosting from the cake and guess what? I managed to remove the frosting as a whole without damaging the swirl, unlike what it should be like. The cake is dry too. Don't bother getting this.Coffee cupcake that wasn't outstanding. Even though the frosting was kind of nice, the cake was dry.Cookies and cream cupcake. As usual, cake is dry and frosting is just so-so. Don't waste your calories on this.

Ordered Duck Confit Spaghettini (costs $9.80 after deducting from the 1-for-1 pasta dinner promotion), because I thought the combination of duck confit and spaghetti was pretty cool. However, I was disappointed with the dish. Noodles were not al dente (too soft), duck was not tender (a bit tough) and the oil used was a bit too much. Tried my friend's Smoked Salmon Angelhair pasta and it wasn't worth the money and calories. Doubt I'll be back soon.

I got the set lunch, which comes with a Soup of the Day, a Main and a Drink.

Soup of the day was Cream of Corn, and it was the soup that's the highlight of the whole meal... Soup was comforting to drink, add in pepper for a spicy kick. There were some corn kernels in the soup too, for added crunch. I liked the soup.

Moving on to the Vongole, the wine base was too overpowering. It felt like I was "eating" a very strong alcoholic drink. Linguine could have been a little softer. If I would want to eat vongole, I will go to Peperoni Pizzeria instead, where they are more generous with the pasta and venus clams. Also, their white wine base is done to perfection.

I chose the Iced Lemon Tea for my drink, don't bother getting it because it's not sweet, despite adding sugar syrup in it.

Doubt I'll be back anytime soon, given that there are so many other better food establishments serving better pastas. Even the pastas at Pizza Hut are better than Ambush, in my opinion.

The cake was quite crumbly and very dry; the texture resembled more like a muffin. Taste-wise, it's average but what puts me off is the texture of the cupcake. It would have been tastier if the cupcake was moist and not crumbly. The frosting above did not help to complement the cupcake well as a whole. Overall, I don't think this Keylime flavour is worth a try.
