Located in a quiet stretch of shophouses in Kembangan is this casual restaurant that dishes out impressive Western fare. My friend and I visited the place at about 1.30PM+ and it was empty, hence service was pretty fast. To complete your meal, add $5 to get a bowl of the Soup of the Day and a drink of your choice.
Forest Mushroom Cappuccino
Soup of the day was Forest Mushroom Cappuccino. Awesome, because my friend and I wanted to try that while we searched for their menu online. Cappuccino used to describe a savoury soup? Intriguing. Soup wasn't too creamy nor rich. Seasoning is done alright, though I would prefer some chunky mushroom bits in it.
Rosemary Chicken
Initially, I wanted to get the Carbonara or Breaded Dory because I don't really like to eat chicken and those 2 options were the cheapest out of the whole lot. However, after much persuasion from my friend (she told me to try something else different), I got the Rosemary Chicken, which is also the same price as the Carbonara and Breaded Dory. The chicken was served with a mushroom ragout, red wine jus and thick cut fries. Frankly speaking, I did not really like the taste of the gravy (the alcohol taste was a little too overpowering). But the mushrooms and fries were fantastic. The fries were exceptionally delicious. Oh-so-fluffy and crispy!
Waffle w/ Ice Cream & Maple Syrup
A meal is only complete when you finish it off with a dessert. When I browsed through the menu for the first time, I knew I had to get the Waffles because I love waffles a lot! And true enough, this version doesn't disappoint. Although R&F's waffles are thin (not fluffy at all), it's really crispy and the buttermilk batter was excellent. It was served hot too so when eaten with the ice cold ice cream, the infusion explodes in your mouth - in a good way, haha!
Caramelised Banana w/ Vanilla Ice Cream
My friend got the Caramelised Bananas. Nothing outstanding, I would say, because I am not a fan of bananas. The combination of the ice cream and the caramel had a weird sticky texture. Supplementary Information: All prices are nett, so eat to your heart's (or rather, your stomach's) content! :-) Recommended Dish(es):

Do visit Lola's Cafe early to grab your seats because it's really packed with people! That's a good sign because many people = good food! Let me share with you some of the dishes I like from Lola's Cafe!
Farmer's Bratwurst Roll
From the brunch menu, I got the Farmer's Bratwurst Roll. It's a pork sausage in between a sweet bun, drizzled with tomato and nacho cheese sauce, with potato fries on the side. I like the sausage because it has a strong smokey flavour, which is something essential I look out for in a good sausage. The accompanying sauce was delish, although I couldn't really taste the nacho cheese sauce. Fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. A very filling dish, considering the amount of carbs they give!
Avocado Eggs Benedict
My friend got himself the Avocado Eggs Benedict, which comprises of 2 brioche bread, avocado, poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce and garden salad in Balsamic dressing on the side. Not too bad with the flavours, although I think it's a little pricey.
Mushroom Melt
If you're a fan of cheese and don't mind having a really jelak meal, then get this Mushroom Melt. Brioche bread with Swiss white mushroom, mozzarella cheese, cream and garden in Balsamic dressing on the side. Gets too heavy after a while, which gives the impression of a huge portion. I like the mushroom-y taste, though.
Honey Paprika Crispy Wings
This incredible starter, which was unfortunately served after our main course, is to die for! Wings were hot when served and the skin was crispy and delish! The seasoning wasn't too overpowering and it works with the wings so well. A must get dish!
Feast!

There's a student promotion whereby students can get 15% off any cakes & patries till 5PM on Tuesdays - Fridays. Well, if you're not a student, don't be upset because there's also a Weekday 1PM - 5PM tea time promotion! Pay $6.80 to get a cake/ pastry of your choice + a cup of tea!
Fuji
My friend got himself the Fuji. It is a light green tea mousse complimented with a lychee gelee insert and a soft green tea sponge base. Sounds very complex. And indeed, I found it hard to appreciate the taste. The texture was kind of "heavy" and the lychee taste was very mild. This is not the kind of matcha dessert I fancy.
Ispahan
He also got himself a Ispahan, which consists of layers of rose bavarian cream and raspberry mousse with a lychee gelee middle and lychee fruit. This dessert is sweet and sour at the same time, which does not complement each other very well. The texture of the mousse was however done right.
Ginger Brulee Tart
I dislike ginger so when my friend got the Ginger Brulee Tart, I shook my head in disagreement. Haha! If you don't like ginger, please don't get this. The ginger taste is extremely overpowering and the taste lingers in your mouth for a while. Quite "spicy", too.
Strawberry Shortcake
This is my cake of choice - Strawberry Shortcake. The nicest out of the 4 pastries, I must say. The sponge cake is very soft, light and delicate. Also, the frosting wasn't too sweet. The strawberries were perfect too - not too sour, which goes so well with the whole cake. Definitely worth the try and a second buy! Recommended Dish(es):

After hearing countless reviews on I Am, I knew I had to pay this cafe a visit! Brought my friend along with me to eat their beautiful looking desserts! The cafe had an awkward queue system though. My friend and I had to queue in the walkway of the building opposite for a table. Both of us managed to get a table after 8 minutes or so. The cafe should consider expanding because it's really packed even though it's after lunch hour. Since it's al fresco dining (there's no air conditioner), the cafe is situated right beside the main road, which makes it quite dusty to dine in. Also, birds can enter the cafe and eat the leftovers left by the customers.
Menu
We waited for quite a while for the drink and desserts to arrive. The drink took more than 10 minutes to be served to us. Looks like I Am has to do something with its manpower.
Stir It Up
Stir It Up is the chef's recommendation. However, my friend and I didn't like the drink at all. We didn't even finish half of the glass. Considering the fact that we shared one drink, this means that there's lots of room of improvements for the drink. The chocolate tasted was very mild; the milk overpowered the whole drink. Also, it had a cherry after taste (I assume it's from the red syrup drizzled over the whipped cream) which I didn't like because I don't like cherries in the first place. In the menu, it stated that the drink will be garnished with a whole cherry, and not drizzled with cherry syrup. At $6.90++ for a drink, it's totally not worth it.
Rainbow Mille Crepe Cake
The Rainbow Mille Crepe Cake is definitely Instagram-worthy, but not money and calories-worthy. The crepe itself is kind of bland and tasteless. The chocolate syrup helped to make the crepe a little sweeter, but still, this cake is a huge disappointment. The crepe reminds me of the "Malay kueh" taste. Weird. Lady M does much better Mille Crepe than this at the same price. $8.90++ for a Mille Crepe that's done badly? Oh hell no!
Scarlett Red Velvet Cake
I like Red Velvets myself, so obviously this RV would be the highlight of this cafe trip. But still, it's not good enough to compensate the shortcomings of the drink and Mille Crepe. This cake is very rich and dense, which makes it very jelak to eat after a while. On top of that, the portion is extremely huge, so it'll be a struggle to finish such a dense cake by your own. Advisable to share with 3 people. The chocolate taste is very mild, and the frosting tasted more like ordinary buttercream than cream cheese. I guess $8.90++ for such a huge slice of cake is reasonable, but I wouldn't buy it the second time.
Beautiful Cake Display
Would love to try the Pelangi (Rainbow in Malay) cake one day! Hopefully it will taste as nice as it looks! Table Wait Time: 8 minute(s)

One thing I like about Thai Express is the fact they diners can still get the Set Meals on a weekend! How awesome and economical is that! My family and I decided to give Thai Express a try. It was our first time visiting the restaurant.
Sa-nook Roasted Chicken Set Meal
Here's the Sa-nook Roasted Chicken Set Meal. The star of this dish should supposedly be the chicken, but the chicken doesn't taste nice at all. The sauce tastes like the satay peanut sauce, but a lousier version of it. Chicken was tender though. The winter melon soup was comforting to drink, cooked Chinese style.
Sa-nook Tamarind Fish Set Meal
Here's the Sa-nook Tamarind Fish Set Meal. Not too bad, I enjoyed the fish quite a lot. The batter was nice but the crust of the battered fish was soggy, perhaps due to the prolonged contact with the sauce. The sauce complemented the fish well. The Tom Yum Soup was quite delish, albeit painful to drink all at once, because it's way too spicy after awhile. Great when eaten with the rice. The papaya salad was the nicest out of the 3 dishes. Ingredients were fresh and the deep fried papaya was fragrant and crispy. Sauce used to toss the salad enhanced the flavour of the salad.
Bualoy Gab Phuek
The dessert reminds me of Bo Bo Char Char. Might as well get the autenthic Bo Bo Char Char from a dessert stall in the hawker centre at a much lower price, and double the portion. Also, it was stated on the menu that it was supposed to be served chilled, but the dessert wasn't chilled at all.
Sako Tau Daeng
Don't bother getting this Red Bean Coconut Milk dessert. It's a warm dessert and the coconut milk tasted salty. This dessert was so horrible and I regretted getting it.
Watermelon Lime
This ice blended drink that cost $6.20 is a total rip off, in my opinion. Not thirst quenching at all, and the taste of watermelon is mild. Not worth the money. Recommended Dish(es):
