A Merry High Tea Smile Aug 14, 2012

Finally I made it to Carousel! I had tried umpteen times trying to make reservations for this place but time and again I was always 'rejected' by them as they were fully booked even I called them a week before.
This time round my friend managed to get seats for 32 of us and we were all happy that they could take in a big group of us. The buffet starts at 3.30pm and once we were in, we were all ready to zoom to the respective food counters and piled our plates. I went for the popiah(ok only) and the dim sums( the char siew pau was good but not the others) and of cos the sashimi which they served salmon belly(fresh), tuna(so so as found many 'veins' on them), sea bream(fresh) and the prawns(ok only) and they had a small selections of sushi.
They served a few local food such as laksa, yong tau foo, nasi lemak and tahu goreng and teochew porridge. As for the sweets, they served malay kuehs, chocolate fondue, ice cream, ice kachang, cakes, bread puddings and scones. Quite a wide spread and we were merrily eating and drinking(coffee n tea of cos) until our stomach content! We sat until the end of the buffet which was 5.30pm!
It is around $40 after a 10% on a certain credit card promotions.

Minced Meat Noodle Smile Aug 14, 2012

nice

nice

Just wanted a quick and easy food for lunch and just thought of having noodles and spotted this stall with no queue and I settled for a dried version to pack away. I didn't think much of it because the preparation from the worker didn't seem appealing. Anyway after I took my first bite, I was happy that the taste was good and the noodle was QQ and overall was nice and not overly oily and salty.

Chocolate Cream Eclairs Smile Aug 14, 2012

Besides the kuehs kuehs for desserts tonight, we were also being served chocolate cream eclairs from Four Leaves. The choux pastry were soft, the chocolate sauce on top of the eclairs were thick and creamy, and the cream inside the eclairs were creamy and smooth and blended well overall. It was definitely filling to finish a whole eclair yet I don't feel I had overeat as the cream were not 'heavy' in taste.

After dinner we were served kuehs kuehs from bengawan solo and it has been a while that I have not eaten from them and was glad that there was an new item on the plate that I have not try before and it was the durian kueh. It was really good, it came in 2 layers and only the top was with the durian thingy and the bottom was glutinous rice. Also we had the lapis sagu was soft and good(the 9 layers kueh) and talam hijau(kaya gula melaka kueh) too. Glad I didn't feel any bloating after stuffing some kuehs in.

Chicken Cutlet Smile Aug 14, 2012

Categories : Coffeeshop | Steaks and Grills | Burgers and Sandwiches

We had takeaway dinner at a friend's place and we settled for food around Bedok and some of us requested for western from Aston's and chicken cutlet and sirloin steak were the top favourite. The chicken was good, besides the meat was tender and juicy, the seasoning was good and the sides were well complimented especially the coleslaw, the texture were crunchy not soggy and dressing was nice and not diluted.
