Wanton Noodle Smile Aug 24, 2012

Lately I am into wanton noodle, all thanks to people around me who is a fan of this stall and that stall and got me eager to try them out too. I only frequent this stall on their chicken rice but not their wanton noodle and thought will try as through the words of mouth that this stall is not too bad. The sauce was slightly a bit more darker and strong in taste which to me was okay only and the texture of the noodles were not as QQ as it should be.
But the char siew was good, tender and well roasted and the wanton was surprisingly not bad.

I was having lunch just couple of tables away from this stall and saw some pastries being freshly delivered and I spotted this bun being placed at the top of the counter. The gloss of the bun attracted me and told myself, I shall have some of them to take away.
I got a couple of things and this bun was actually a char siew bun, the char siew was not cubed but came in thin slices and actually the sauce was not too bad as portion as generous too, only I felt that the dough of the bread tasted more of the flour and I wasn't used to it. I think it was at $1.00 each.

Black & White Smile Aug 23, 2012

Was at a friend's place nearby and we stopped by for the traditional dessert as this is one place popular for their smooth beancurd. Black&White or should it be Michael Jackson to name after this concoction of glass jelly with soya bean drink? Whichever name it may be, I just think they match well with it. I had one of it and could taste the thickness from the soya bean drink and the jelly was normal. Per cup was at $1.00.

I just wanted something chinese for dinner and came here for the handmade noodle soup with braised pork ribs. It was definitely a huge portion for me and I loved the thickness of the broth, the QQ texture of the noodle and the pork ribs were succulent and tender. The overall taste was good and impressive and I couldn't put away my cutlery eventhough I kept saying I am full.tongue

Fried Chicken Smile Aug 23, 2012

Heard of Popeye but yet to try them until today. Was craving for some fried stuff and asked a colleague to help me to buy as she was at this area. I was impressed with the exterior crispy skin and the tenderness of the chicken. I love the coleslaw too, they were so crunchy and could taste some mint leaves inside it. The meal cost $8 plus a soft drink and a biscuit like bun, it was very nice too. Really enjoyed it.
