Ma-Po Pork Smile Aug 01, 2010

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Kids-Friendly

Tried another branch this time and we ordered

1) Dong Po Pork - S$12.50
2) Ma-Po Tou Fu - S$8.80
3) Stir-Fried Lotus with Macadamia Nuts - S$10.80

The Dong Po pork is sweet and soft. Very addictive and goes well with white rice. Except is a little too small for the two of us.

Ma-Po You Fu is a little too spicy for me but wifey loves it as the tou fu is soft.

I like the Stir-Fried Lotus as it is plain, fresh and light. Good for people who likes light food. The fresh lotus goes well with the celery and macadamia nuts

Great place for food and wine Smile Aug 01, 2010

Categories : American | Bars/Lounges | Restaurant

Was there after work with good company. Good place to chill out and grab after work drinks and pair it with decadent food. Decor and ambience was modern and chic after the renovation. Having recently revamped their menu, I tried the following dishes:

1) Wagyu Beef Rump - S$36
Presentation was pleasant. The two thick pieces of beef are 75% cooked even though it is pinkish on the inside. It is soft and tender and the juice ooz out after every bite. Definiely one of the best beef steak I have ever had. The mushroom not only makes the dish look beautiful, it also compliments with the meat. You should try this if you are a beef lover.

2) Mini Wagyu n Foie burger - S22
Comes in three mini wagyu beef burgers, the beef is just as good as the beef rump. So good that one mouthful and its all gone in a count of three. The foie's distinct taste gave these bite size burgers a unique edge. Excellent for starters.

3) Smoked Ocean Trout Blinis - S14
The mini cheese pancake with caviar toppings was delicate. Mini-pancake is soft and fresh while the caviar provides a refreshing taste that delights my palate. I like how the chef played with texture.

Service was prompt and pricing is reasonable for the generous servings here. Will be back.

Great Sichuan Food Smile Aug 01, 2010

First time there and it was much better than expected.

We ordered

1) Ten Wonder Duck(medium) - S$23.80
2) Chinese Wine Mushroom(small) - S$10.80

The duck is cooked in lot of herbs, creating a strong yet nice herby smell. The duck meat is tender with the skin yet being crispy at the same time. Eating it is very addictive and makes us crave for more.

The Mushroom is another popular dish. Being a personal favourite of chinese wine chicken, this is the first time I have seen it cooked with mushrooms. The chinese wine makes it fragrant and delicious.

However the price is slightly steep as compared to others

I will definitely come back for more.

Spicy Thai Food Smile Jul 29, 2010
Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Halal

The search for the best Thai food in SG continues.

We ordered
1) Seafood Tom Yam (S$7.50)
2) Chicken Wings (S$7.50)
3) Kang Kong (S$6.90)

The Tom Yam is more spicy than sour but the the seafood is fresh even though there are only 3 prawns

The Chicken wings are tasty and also goes very well with the sweet-sour sauce. 24 pcs a plate is more than enough for both of us.

The Kang Kong came in a mountain on a plate. It is very spicy and tasty. Got to go with rice to reduce the spice level

Verdict: My vote still goes to Thai Accent..

Tender Beef Steak Smile Jul 25, 2010

Categories : Japanese | Food Court | Steaks and Grills

Decided to try Pepper Lunch after hearing so much from my friends.
And ordered

Hamburger Steak with Egg (S$11.90)

And it turned out to be teppan style.
It contains fresh bean sprouts, beef steak and egg on a sizzling hot plate.
Pepper is a must add as it makes the different!
The fresh pepper power enhances the taste of the fresh juicy bean sprouts.
The beef steak is soft and tender and juicy! With pepper, it becomes heaven.
The set comes with rice to go with the hot plate.

PS: Rem to get your table number while ordering lol
