Mrupupup attended Lil Papa's Wieners Beerstro tasting session. Very good experience! Lil Papa's Wieners sells hotdogs and special beers & ciders. The place is located at Blk 7 Tanjong Pagar Plaza #01-108 (near Tanjong Pagar MRT). Really great fun attending this tasting session. Mrupupup got to try the special gourmet hotdogs known as wieners which come in non-spicy, mild spicy (with mild mustard, beef and tomatoes) and very spicy flavours huffy(meaning with sambal chili - spicy!). Hotdogs vary in price from between $7-$10. All very nice! Mrupupup had one Lil Papa's Fav Wiener (non-spicy) which comes with pork sausage, home style baked beans on top with onions and curry powder. Delicious hotdog and one is enough to make you full! The tasting group tried out the hotdogs with pairings of special beers, ale and cider. Mrupupup was excited to drink Cherry Coke too as a starter! Cherry Coke is not commonly found in Singapore. Our tasting group also heard from the owner: different types of 51 beers in the store, how he explained that the store's logo was actually inspired by his grandfather having a beer & hotdog and how he set up his special niche beer store in Tanjong Pagar.chopstick

The day was relaxing and so fun! We also had a platter of sausages with the special toffee flavour cider and craft beer (very unique taste and nice!). The craft beers and ciders (kind of flavoured alcoholic drink) costs between $10- $20. Totally enjoyable and loved the nice & interesting conversations we had in the group. Guess beer tasting session kind of lightens up the spirits in the group. Thanks Open Rice Tasty Union and Lil Papa's Wierners Beerstro for the evening. Double thumbs up!smilesmilesmile Check out Mrupupup's Blog : http://mrupupup.blogspot.sg/2012/10/lil-papas-wieners-hotdogs-craft-beers.html

Laksania's Kelantan Laksa

Laksania's Kelantan Laksa

Laksania serves very nice Laksa which is a spicy noodle dish. Laksania located at the Nex Mall (#B1-08) serves Kelantan laksa, Singapore Laksa, Penang Laksa and Sarawak Laksa. Laksania is a social entreprise store and it is a sister company of the famous Secret Receipe. Their Boss of Laksania shared the difficulties of setting up this store to help the less fortunate people in society via gainful employment in Laksania. Social Entreprise in Singapore is not easy and only business people with the toughest minds chart out their paths and are determine to help the less fortunate in society. The food in Laksania was good and Mrupupup tried their Sarawak Laksa which was spicy, yummy and comes with chicken meat. Laksania also serves Laksa Goreng (fried noodles with laksa sauce), laksa satay, various desserts and many laksa types of food. All the food items are nice and served by very friendly staff, some of whom do face challenges in life. Check out their notice board where many famous personalties have patronised Laksania. Final note, Laksania means Laksa 'Nia' in Hokkien language means Laksa Only!

BBQ Chicken's Duck meat

BBQ Chicken's Duck meat

BBQ Chicken at Greenwich V Mall serves very nice chicken and duck meat. Although this Korean BBQ Chicken store serves great grilled chicken, Mrupupup prefers their succulent duck meat dish. The duck meat dish is fantastic and the flavour very unique. Just love to see grilled duck meat ozzing with much duck fatty juice. I placed a picture of the duck served with mashed potato & salad and can make one salivate. You can try their grilled chicken which is also good.

Hans Cafe cakes

Hans Cafe cakes

Mrupupup just likes to eat. Hans Cafe sure has many types of cakes and pastries for one to eat. Mrupupup could not resist and bought their chicken pie, kaya pandan cake and their peach tart. All the items bought was in Mrupupup's tummy within a few hours! Yummys! Guess Mrupupup loved their pastries. Chicken pie was great with chicken and potatoes, eat it while the pie is warm. The kaya pandan layer cake was very nice and fragrant with pandan. Peach tart just one huge peach on top of the tart which was good.

Once Upon a Rosti  Smile Aug 16, 2012

Once Upon a Rosti Dish with sausages

Once Upon a Rosti Dish with sausages

Mrupupup visited the new food venture known as 'Once Upon a Rosti' at AXA Tower, Shenton Way, Basement 1-15. The shops sells the European pan fried potato food known as Rosti. The shop has an interesting name and is the same managment that brought us the food concept 'Once Upon a Milkshake' - which sells milkshake. The Rosti shop is nice and sells different types of rosti with sausages, bacon, eggs, ham, vegetables. If you ask Mrupupup, the shop served up pretty good rosti. Do visit the store in the evening for Shentown Way becomes much less busy. Good day and may the Fairy Godmother visits you in your dreams. For Mrupupup, may my dreams come true! Food dreams I mean....
