Thousand Leaves Cake Smile Jul 08, 2013
Categories : American

Was here to send a friend off so grab a bite while waiting. We bought the mocha ice blended $5.90, ice blended green tea $6.70 and chocolate of a thousand leaves cake $6.10. This outlet you can see the crate design counter that the new coffee bean outlets are adopting, maybe to give an impression of freshly delivered beans from south american countries smile You will still see many tables occupied by students mugging away. The chocolate cake was a sinner , with the multi layered texture, its sweetness ot the max and fortunately its top layer is still not so sweet like mudpie kind.

BeetRoot Noodle Smile Jul 08, 2013
Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Coffeeshop

Tried the beat root noodle, very interesting noodle flavors they have here. Also available are egg, spinanch, seaweed, ramen, meepok, horfun, carrot, that alone is worth a thumbs up actually. Ordered the $4 version and was pleasantly surprised by its quantity, i counted at least 5 wantans and 13 slices of char siew. like the char siew also becoz its all lean meat. Though i can't really taste the beetroot noodle, it does hv an interesting sweet after taste.

red tea jelly Smile Jul 08, 2013

Categories : Hawker Centre | Desserts and Cakes

tried the signature red tea jelly at $1.70 with the additional evaporated milk option. You will be greeted with generous amount of red tea jelly (more than that offered by koufu), longans, tapole jelly and normal shaved ice. Though the ice is not fined shaved, i would say the evaporated moil combination with the red tea taste is a winner. Certainly a good quencher for any hot day.

Not Just Fish Ball Smile Jul 08, 2013

Categories : Teochew | Hawker Centre | Noodles

i've always wondered whats the hype with this stall and its long queue. queuing behind, i could see the stall is mend by 2 uncles and an auntie, one prepares the noodles, the other pours soup from a big metal can and the auntie does ad hoc stuff. Its not just pure fishball is offered, it also includes tou pok and homemade meat balls. When it was my turn i did not get to try the meatball though coz it was sold out. The meatball looks more like fish cake sized actually. i had mee pok dry with the more ingredients option for $1 more but that only came with 1 more fish ball and tau pok sad . Was certainly delighted by the yong tau foo ingredients and the mee pok was perfectly cooked and mixed with chilli. The soup though felt quite average though. Still hope to try the meatball next time! Normal sized $3.

Syabu Syabu and Steamboat in One Smile Jul 01, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Buffet | Japanese BBQ/Teppanyaki

robertson quay has been rejuvenated with all these jap eateries and azmaya is one of them. Some of the waiters are japanese and diners also make up fair portion of japanese as well. The opening special available is the pork syabusyabu buffet at $24 each, where you get unlimited pork slices and vegetables and mushroom. Not a big variety but its free flow, and you can both syabu syabu and bbq the pork slices. We also ordered an order of wagyu for $35 and it was heavenly. sapporo beer at $12 and asahi at $9. Worth mentioning is the sesame sauce provided, it really makes the single pork dish worth eating again and again
