Ofira Amazing Thai Food. How "Amazing" it is? I am eager to find out. My friends brought me over to this place for lunch. I wouldn't have know there's actually a place selling thai food if it wasn't for them. One look at the place, it was quite small I feel. Not suitable for the whole office people to come down for a gathering lunch cos it will confirm be very crampy and step on each others leg while all you want is to sit down and enjoy your food, to fill your hungry stomach.

Anyway we didn't come in super huge group so we manage to sit down comfortably. The menu mainly served the usual thai food you can find in other thai food place. So, I decided to order something which is the super star among my friends - the thai basil minced chicken rice with a slice of omelet. I didn't want to add extra chili padi to the minced chicken so I just had it the normal version. Presentation of the dish is - on the left it is the egg. in the middle, the rice. Followed by the minced chicken.

The taste of this dish... mixed feeling. There isn't much of the basil taste, more that normal stirred fried minced chicken. The egg surprisingly tasted nice! The egg smell is so strong that it lingers in my mouth even after I had the chicken. Now I know why my friends love it to be extra spicy cos the normal version has no kick at all. I resulted in "kopping" the chili padi from their plates.

Beware that you might smell like some thai food after walking out from the shop. You might feel hungry just by smelling yourself.

quality BB Tea Smile Jun 07, 2013

Categories : Taiwanese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

Ever since the first Bubble Tea was introduced in Singapore many years ago, all of them taste similar to me. It was only when I first visited Taiwan, tried their bubble tea and thought to myself that THIS IS THE REAL THING. Since then none of the bubble tea sold here match up to the one I had tried in Taiwan except for... KOI! The franchise version of Taiwan's well known 50Lan, KOI is the one and only bubble tea in Singapore which tasted the same from there.

I usually will order their Green Milk Tea, aka "Nai Luu(green)", 50% sugar level and no pearls added. I tried their pearls before, it will chewy and sweet and very addictive. But due to wanting to be healthy, I decided to drop the idea of chewing pearls. The milk tea wise is thick, very flavorful with the tea fragrance and the milk addition is just nice too. 50% sugar level is not too sweet or bland. The queue here at people park complex can be long especially during office lunch hours but dies down when it is after working hours. standard remains the same as per the first time I had.

Something special about The Ascot - it is not just a place to have your drinks and chill but also a good place for you to have your dinner too! Tried their a bunch of bangles which is served with bubbles and squeak. The sausages tasted good and I like their bubbles and squeak too.

Do order their dessert too! I'll recommend their bread pudding because it is definitely one of the best I have tried. Sweetness is just nice and the bread used is special too.

Lastly, have a bottle of their specially imported apple cider to end your day.

no meat burger Smile May 17, 2013

I was impressed with VeganBurg as the crew is able to make a meatless burger to taste exactly like one! In order to cater to different taste buds of their customers, they came out with many different and interesting flavors such as smokey bbq, satay, creamy shrooms, hawaiian teriyaki and etc. I would recommend their satay and creamy shrooms with you are not a fan of vegetarian stuff. It is so good that you dont even know u are chewing on something thats meatless.

Other than the burgers, their crispy potato and spinach pops and vegan franks (their bestsellers) taste just as nice as the burgers too.

Interior of the shop is cool too, with a motorbike in the middle of the shop. I like the comfort-ness in the shop too. Somewhere to slack and have your meal at the same time.

Hansang Smile May 13, 2013

Located at the second floor of the grandstand, Hansang Korean restaurant is not difficult to spot from the carpark near to Giant Hypermarket. When I walk in to the restaurant, I was greeted by the bartenders in some korean language (the bar is just located at the entrance) Beside a place to eat, there's also a place for you to shop for authentic korean groceries and snacks. For the food wise, they do served really good quality of well marinated meat, one of my favorite is the marinated beef short ribs. Very flavorful and tasty. Though a bit more expensive than the other meat available, i think it is still worth the money.
